Or resurrect the thread instead? :P

Very true.

Look at the statements coming out from Chinese and Indian officials regarding this incident. Then you'll see who is warmongering.

India started this by setting up bunkers and an airfield on the border as well as starting aggressive patrolling.

In response we set up tents on our own side of the LAC, we never even crossed the LAC.

But now Indians are screaming that we are 20 km inside their territory? If that is true... why aren't they doing anything about it?

India is making bunkers on its side and is not tibet being militarized? You claim tibet, you claim Ladhak, you claim sikkim, you claim Mansarovar and call it tibet, you claim arunachal. Ridiculous. We havent claimed anything, if this continues we will start claiming parts of tibet and we will also not recognize Mc Mohan Line, would that mean whole China belongs to India?

Please talk in sense and do quality debate do not come with same old BS which we have heard 10000 times.

That would be utter stupidity on the part of the GoI. Why would they make a false accusation, to make themselves look impotent? As it is, they are facing the wrath and ridicule of the opposition for not doing anything about it. As it is, they have always faced charges of being too soft in foreign policy and military affairs. You think they would invent a story about a chinese transgression, and then sit around and do nothing, just to give more ammunition to their critics? What for, to provide their detractors with a stick to beat them with?

If anything, the GoI would have desperately tried to keep the incursion under wraps. Not invent the story of an incursion to make themselves look feeble.

What is more likely is the Indian government tried to keep it under wraps, but the Indian media got a hold of it and turned it into a huge sh*tstorm.

Once that happened, no one would want to back down for fear of losing face.

According to the Chinese government, we have not crossed the LAC. Why would I believe the Indian government's claims instead? The Indian government works for the interests of Indian citizens, and I am not one.

If Indians have some other version LAC in their head, that is their own business. We have not crossed our LAC.

There is no transgression. We have not crossed the LAC.

Even despite India breaking our tacit agreement by setting up permanent bunkers on the LAC.

If we are to believe India's claims that our soldiers are 20 km into Indian territory, then how on Earth is India not doing anything about it?

What is more likely is that our troops are still on our side of the border, and India is making lots of loud noises, but isn't actually doing anything about it because there is no transgression.

Are you one of the soldiers posted at those forward camps? No one has the correct information. The problem is LAC is not International Border it is only under memorandum of understanding that okay we will not cross it you will not cross till seize fire remains but it does not decide whom the land belongs since it is a temporary solution and that's why one can go beyond it if not detected intruding. But if detected the army has full rights to shoot at him.

We have not crossed the LAC. If India wants to have their own version of the LAC that is their own concern.

Of course, if you shoot Chinese soldiers on Chinese land, that is an immediate declaration of war. So you'd better be sure about those lines.

The term "LAC" gained legal recognition in Sino-Indian agreements signed in 1993 and 1996. The 1996 agreement states, "No activities of either side shall overstep the line of actual control."[4] According to the Times of India, China has crossed the LAC more than 500 times since 2010.[5]
