I don't know if its a big problem in PK, but I would love to know. Does Stolen Valor happen in PK too? If you don't know what it is here is an example video!

If it is a problem what is the general response from people in the PK military services? Against it?

Im interested to find out!

. . .
How many people in the military has time or even clearance to post on public forum like PDF?

. . . .
Thank you for the replies, very interesting. Are there service men who care enough about it to confront people who lie? Or does it kind passed under the rug a little bit?

Oh they are confronted, but not online.
You also have cases of barely mediocre or early retirement types making tall claims on their service.

Generally, its easy for those that fake service to fool those who do not have an idea of the military life; but most do get the hang of telling the real deal apart; fool me once.

They are confronted by some ex servicemen but unfortunately in our(Indian) case those retired officers who challenges and confronts the tall claims made by a fake ex servicemen gets banned unfortunately for speaking the truth.

At f-16.net there are plenty of active duty people, from enlisted to officers, active on that forum. Do not try to discredit those who are or were in the military just because you never served.

There are service laws, at least in Indian sub-continent, that do not permit public discussion/discourse by active service personnel and the same is enforced quite strictly, for if discovered, the repercussions are quite severe.

However, few are active on this forum itself, and like @Oscar mentioned, those masquerading as one, get caught quite quickly.

And how would the authority know ?

I understand that if devote enough resources, the government would be able identify most, if not all, participants in an Internet forum. But is it worth it ? For US, we decide to trust the individuals to honor his/her commitment and patriotism. For the most part, it works.

I have no interests in debating the positives and negatives of such an allowance, only that to use the argument that it is forbidden for active duty military personnel to participate in Internet forum, therefore, those who claim military service must be frauds.

Snitches?

Although I do have my opinion that the service laws in this case as prevalent are archaic. And do agree with the view you have expressed.

South Asia has more cases of fake police imho than from military services.
