First of All, This is not a Religious Thread so please Don't treat as one, I have been looking around Inspiring Quotes from people, and i notice so many people on social Media Posting Famous lines from some of the greatest people that ever lived, but what i notice ( and its just me ) that Muslim Leaders from the Past and whatever they said has not been given much Credit or used as frequently as we see other Famous people quotes .
may be its because the new Generation does not know if these Figures ever even said those words, or its because of a Hate that is created by Media over Islam that people have a stereotypical mindset that a Muslim Caliph or Prophet can not even say such Great lines that Inspire millions ..

I am posting some of famous quotes from some of the Great people whom i admire, not because i am a Muslim but those words are powerful and can help build a Good Personality/Character .
And I am Starting by Posting some of the sayings of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad Pbuh.

Ill leave religious figures out simply because by virtue of their spirituality they are of a different category.

Here is a different example-
Brian Shul

Brian Shul speaks softly and carries a big stick. The American war hero every bit worthy of Roosevelt’s words flew 212 missions in the Vietnam War before his nearly fatal crash. With his body severely burned, Shul was in so much pain that he wanted to die.

Then one day, lying in his hospital bed, he heard children playing soccer and the voice of Judy Garland singing “Over the Rainbow” on the radio. Suddenly, Shul, at 25-years-old, realized he had a lot to live for. He set himself on a determined road of recovery that would span 15 reconstructive surgeries and countless hours of physical therapy.

Shul eventually turned his amazing story of survival into his greatest strength, and he went on to be one of fewer than 100 people to pilot the SR-71 Blackbird, a U.S. spy plane largely operational during the Cold War and thereafter.

He became an airshow demonstration pilot and taught at the Air Force’s Top Gun School. He retired from the Air Force in 1990.

describes the “moment of peace” before his plane crashed during the Vietnam War. “The inevitability of impacting the earth became quite clear…. For a very brief moment, you could actually see your life flash before your eyes. In a nanosecond, I could see the funeral; I could see my parents standing at graveside. And then of course the crash and the fire brought you back to reality.”

describes his blind escape from the burning plane: “The heat of the fire and the reality that I had not died and was still alive became apparent to me with the pain of the fire.”

Shul describes his will to live, despite periods of deep depression and wanting to die.
“I was in awe of my own body that wanted to heal itself…. You had to want to do your therapy, and it’s not an easy thing to want when it’s just going to hurt the whole time you’re doing it.”

describes his tenure of teaching at the Air Force Top Gun school.
Shul underwent a series of intensive selection process in order to fly the SR-71.

Brian describes what he means by coming out of his crash experience ‘fearless:’ “You’re not afraid to live your life fully. We’re all terminal; we’re all terminal everyday. Once you’ve come that close [to dying] you have a renewed vitality. Until that happens, you don’t want to miss a minute of [life]. That puts you on a little different frequency than the average person…”

“One of the things I learned lying in that hospital bed is if you’re not doing your passion in life, and doing the things you love, you’re wasting those minutes; because it’s all over all too quick.”

“On April 11th, of every year, I celebrate my second birthday in life; I could have easily had my life over at 25 years old. I’ve had 42 extra years.”

advice: “Fearlessly approach your passions and do them because you don’t know how many years you have.”

but don't you think that these Spiritual leaders were powerful Political figures too , and in numerous books Prophet Muhammad pbuh has be praised as not just a Religious leader but a Powerful political figure , and which was shadowed in 4 Rightly guided Caliphs, Caliphs have no Religious Authority compared to a Prophet , but they are successors of Prophet as Leader Not religious but Political Authority ..

It reminds me of a favourite poem of mine Ishrate-Katra by the legend Mirza Ghalib I believe.

First verse:

Ishrat-e-qatra hai dar'ya men fana ho jaana,
Dard ka had se guzarna hai dawa ho jaana

My translation (any good?):

Glory it is for the drop to join with ocean,

Untold Pain provides own remedy,

I too seek much solace in the great ghazals of long time ago...in a way they are timeless....they are direct thread I find to the greater reality however different we may all interpret its layers.

I think its apt for this thread too, because you ask why we cannot produce such in our leaders etc. The thing is timescale is quite small, true diamonds of people only stand out over many 100's, even 1000's of years....often it takes that long just to see they were so after they leave us. Just like only few stars are produced over much much long time from the massive nebula.

Try best with what we got....and hope luck/chance/fate/almighty aligns/intervenes at some point to create the leader at right time when its most needed....so maybe humanity can live to see the stars die and see what is next.

We live among it, we do not have any vantage point, we are each just drops....we have not merged with ocean and cannot see whole picture....thus pain is our solace, but it is also our great hope, for in the end only such things as pain, love, courage unite us past the walls, fences and other divisions we manifest from our deepest ego and ignorance. That is only thing that gives me inner peace brother, whatever I see happen all around me, I hope others can find theirs.

Yes but that automatically sets them apart. the prophet was the best of the best of creation- good luck competing with that. His successors also had the virtue of knowing the prophet and so on and so forth- They had the guidance available to them and unless someone was like Abu Jahl in wilful ignorance of the first hand exposure to the message; most accepted the prophet's superiority as the best of creation.

But what of those who were just good human beings who never got the message? Yet were resilient? Compassionate and so on?

It does set him miles apart from others but on what account , Because he was Prophet ? i'd Say his personality was judged by most of the ignorant people around the Arabia and Wallah even those Ignorant fools can't say anything but The man is " Sadiq and Ameen " .. putting ourselves under the shoes of him is not even question, for shadowing i mentioned knowledge of Abu Bakr, Umar ,Uthman and Ali R.A ( To all ), and what i sense that their grips of matter of regarding the life, or running a society comes from the single Source , Muhammad ..

But what of those who were just good human beings who never got the message? Yet were resilient? Compassionate and so on?

I think depends on the message we are talking here, If we are Talking about the one'ness of God, than in one way or another , one form or another it comes through out the human history starting from Adam, but if by message you mean the collective Knowledge or the unseen knowledge he and only Prophets were given access to, than i'd say the Hadith comes to explain it , "
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah does not look at your appearance or wealth, but rather he looks at your hearts and actions.

Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2564

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Muslim

People who were somehow not be exposed to the message their judgment lies with Allah, as he and only he has authority to that .. and An Good action with true intention to serve Humanity/God creation makes a man Martin Luther King , Malcom X, Gandhi or etc but if we connect the dots, these people and their words in one way of other we can find in Prophet's life' , he lived out all either as a Prophet of Allah who's responsibility is to deliver the message, or A Powerful Political Entity that United Barbaric Pagan Arabic World into a unified Body .

my Question to you Oscar, is that today we seek Wisdom , brilliance and knowledge in the Quotes of great leaders of our time or recent past, but we ( including Muslims , not all ) are shy to step forward putting up such statements issued by the Powerful Political and religious figures that can revolutionize a society , why are we ( as Muslims ) are shy and why Western World is deliberating ignoring such statements , only because they comes form a Muslim source ..

.
such statements issued by the Powerful Political and religious figures that can revolutionize a society

That is an assumption not supported by history. After all, the sayings have been around while the Muslim world decayed from its pre-eminence in the world. How would merely repeating those noble sayings revolutionize a society? It takes followers to act upon those sayings for them to be effective.

.

That is another assumption. I cannot speak for the entire West, but in USA, it simply does not matter where something good comes from. If it works, it is adopted. Take yoga as an example. In fact, one can argue that most Muslim thought such as what has been quoted above is practiced far more here than anywhere else.

The same way that in USA uptil today people are using the N word for Black and , Go back to your country for color people .. even after you have Martin and Malcom shout their lungs out on Racism . would you agree that US society in General is Racist Society ? as i can post millions of Videos of white people calling N word to black, and Black people calling all whites are crack-*** .. ? minority never represent the core values of Society or system , and I wont distinguish Islam here as well .. whatever people do does not mean its part of Islam , there is a African Tribe who has their own Ka'ba which they circle around , and we know where Kaaba exists

Its strange that how i never see the revolutionize Ideas of a Society Established by Abu Bakr and Umar, the model which a lot of western Societies are build upon , are lost in history ? but we still talk about Greek Democracy ..why ? ME / Muslim is key word here.

and please don't Pick up certain lines, stay on Topic

So please clarify the topic: Is it the noble sayings coming from great Muslims, or why you feel they are being ignored in the West?

My main Topic is not that these Words of Wisdom are ignored in west only but in ME and Asia as well , but I specially ask to Oscar why he think that these Political Figures and their quotes are not as frequently used as compared to other western Personalities .
