People who got Computer skills!

I guess you only want to have a look at the data, right? Simple take it to some hdd specialists who can extract the data and write a dvd for you (might cost you a couple of hundred bucks depending on the amount of data you want retrived!). I did the same thing once, but my problem was that my hdd crashed (physical problem) - I had really important lab results I was working on, on that disk and I actually thought of calling the FBI for helping me extract the data! Once you get the data, wipe the disk and do a clean install of the OS.

Ya i am also saying this that there are many chances that users didn't provide any password to administrator and in that case you can use administrator to log in. Except that there is no other method. Running in safemode will only disable folder locks.

Qadri, I was typing that reply when you posted the description...
anyways.

Also, even to run in safe mode he needs admin password...

My suggestions to desiguy

1. Try login id as administrator and leave password field blank.
2. repair your OS

.
All, right everyone.

I got many answers.

Now i will try first pressing alt+ctrl+del option.

Otherwise, "repairing OS".

Otherwise last option, try the YouTube video option.

If still didn't work, I will come back to this thread, and you people should more ways. lol

Thanks.

Noob,
There is no need for you to pass comments. You got no idea what Sir Gubbi is talking about!

So why troll? Huh? If you have something informative to say then only post otherwise _|_

You are one of those greenhorns who dosen't even know how to copy cracks from cd.

.
Really? You sure you aint upto something not good?
You dont really have a choice. Ask your "friend" for the password or as Iluang said, do a clean reinstall of the OS - you will lose every thing.
There's one trick (legal), but I wont tell you.
edit: nvm....................
Use live CD and with "THIS program" you can see all stored passwords ...but i won't tell u "The programs" name

Dude, question about the video.

went to site on here Download | Ubuntu

and on step 7, it's confusing.

Where is the ISO file?

ohh, to go on step 7, first click on step 2. "Burn your CD or create a USB drive"

So i got PC from one of my friend and it has password set up for user account.

Problem, is don;t know the password.

Any way, i can remove that pass and have access to that account. (it has only one account, so it's admin).
Am going to assume that the reason why you want to access this account is to access data. If that is the case, then remove the HDD from the box and plug it into another working PC. This other PC will see this HDD as an accessory data drive, nothing more. Copy anything you want to another storage method, either to another HDD or DVD or USB flash or whatever. Then use a Linux distro optimized for this sort of repair, such as Knoppix, that has the password reset tools to create a new password to this account. Best to 'reset' the password than 'recover'. There is little to gain by 'recover'.

Resetting Windows Passwords with Knoppix

The Knoppix disc is a 'live' distro, meaning you can actually search online for tips while trying to reset this Windoze account.

Desi,

On step 7
Encircle 'Require my password to log in and decrypt my home folder' OR 2ND option, anyone would do.

Just enter the password you want to use! And type any computer name.

Hey you burning it on cd or USB Drive? Install it directly on USB!!

Take a bat and hit the screen. Thats the only solution.
