His "brian"? :D

And PAF not having any BVR capable plane at that time kept them out of the mix.

Before Mian Sahib, there was ignominious displacement of Prime Minister Junejo during his official visit to the Far East. Remember that? He was accorded an official welcome when he arrived, and left his hosts confused what to do when he left. The Generals act high and mighty when they wish to, of course.

Correction made. Totally unintentional pun. I am not going to accuse Mian Saheb of a Qaim Ali Shah.
Araz

The pun was funny in the context made, you have to admit. I thank you for that moment of levity. :D

Well written. All valid points. So BVR, bad planning and deniability (in earlier stages) and prevention of an all out war (since India was not crossing the LOC with their planes, PAF did not have the excuse they needed to retaliate)

Why crying here.... Just tell this to those idiots who make this plan.
thankfully your own army made videos of flag staff meetings of where Pakistanis came to collect their bodies

But wasn't that later. Earlier part of the Pakistani misadventure, Pakistan refused to acknowledge them as even Pakistani soldiers and stuck to the stand of them being Mujahiddeens. I think it was only after Musharraf was caught with his proverbial pants down in China talking about the op on an open line to his juniors back in Pindi that Pakistan came out of denial.

Man what happened is history right now reality is we still have the highest peak in that area that means your main road is at risk and your soldier and posts on surrounding mountains are at risk and by the way is this peak also known as Tiger Hill ? @Oscar @Aeronaut @Slav Defence

 the highest peak in the Himalyas is the Mt. Everest. If you put an army post on top of mt everest, it does not give you command over India/Nepal/China border. There is a thing called placement. This peak at best can work as a vantage point but is somewhat removed from the National Highway. And is surrounded by Indian posts which can negate its military impact..

And its not called the tiger hill.. thats point 4660

Why you are calling a back-up?
Can not you defend on your own?
Are you on crutches?

The reality is that it hasn't helped you much. What benefit did you get? Choked off Siachen? Got Kashmir? No? Pointless.

Btw, among the highest peaks taken by Indian forces during the war was point 5770 on the Saltoro range (11 Pakistanis killed). That was thought to be on par with the capture of Bana post (Quaid Post) in its difficulty. Also captured in the same sector were points 5810, 5685 and 5990
