Sources in both the parties told “The Hindu” that an announcement in this regard is expected soon.

After two months of talks between the BJP and PDP on forming the government in Jammu and Kashmir, sources in both the parties confirmed that the two have finalised the deal and will soon announce the government formation.

“There will soon be an announcement, maybe in two to three days. The deal is almost finalised,” BJP’s State General Secretary (Organization) in J-K, Ashok Koul, told The Hindu.

Since the elections results announced a hung verdict in the last week of December, the PDP and BJP, formerly seen as political parties with completely opposite political positions and agendas, have been in talks with each other to form the Government, ignoring all the other options for coalitions.

According to sources, the two have had more than 15 rounds of talks during which, at many times, the two parties - in order to pander to their respective constituencies - behaved as if the attempts at stitching up the coalition were falling through.

Sources told The Hindu that the talks are finally over for all practical purposes and the deal is almost done.

“Monday would probably be the last day of talks to formally go over things and you can soon afterward expect an announcement,” a senior BJP leader told The Hindu.

Senior PDP leader and chief spokesperson, Naeem Akhtar, however, told The Hindu that they were still in talks with the BJP and though government formation seemed in sight, it was not close enough yet.

“We are still in talks and no deal has been struck yet,” Akhtar told The Hindu. "All these are rumours but safe guesses that Mufti Sahib will be meeting Modi soon."

Sources in the PDP, however, told The Hindu that the deal between the two parties was almost finalized and an announcement on government formation was soon expected.

Former J & K Chief Minister and NC leader, Omar Abdullah, also wrote about the BJP-PDP deal.

“The PDP-BJP tie up was a done deal ages ago, all this was just Mufti Sayeed’s grandstanding as a tough guy to undo the damage in the valley. Only an idiot would have concluded that Mufti Sayeed’s drama over the last few days meant PDP-BJP were actually having difficulty joining up,” Omar tweeted.

I give it to him this time, Mufti Sayeed should now be awarded an Oscar. @SarthakGanguly @JanjaWeed

. .
So the PDP has agreed not to revoke AFSPA which was the main sticking point?

. . .
As expected =>

No removal of AFSPA=> PDP agreed

No removal of 370 => BJP agreed

Means status quo !!!
dont worry we will remove Arcticle 370 ! no more occupation of land by muslims the mother earth is for everyone!

Win win for BJP. PDP gave up on their demand for the removal of AFSPA...in return BJP will not push for the removal of article 370 (they wouldn't have been able to do it even if PDP had agreed, as they lack two thirds majority both in the centre & the state for constitutional amendment).

& add to that...
Jammu & Kashmir deal sealed, Mufti to be CM but BJP to run the show | The Indian Express
