PDF members that should write a book about Pakistan/Pakistanis...

He got banned ( don't know why. Was a polite member) and haven't him seen since then. Sad bcz he was a good member. Very pro govt but thats cool and it was nice to have a sensible member from Afghanistan.

OMG!!! NO!!!!! really .... @A-Team .... that's terrible !!!

I was kind-a worried if he was ok given the stuff that's happened in the last few months.

@waz -- is there anything we can do to re-instate him???!?!?

.
Talking about books, can Pakistani members recommend a good accurate book/s about Quaid-e-Azam?

I agree. Losing a member is always sad because an entire persons views, thinking and philosophy disappear when a member disappears. Even when a member has been hostile and goes I feel that a viewpoint has disappeared. We all think uniquely and that is the beauty of human life. I always feel sad when a member goes. Dunno why. Even though a lot of those gone have said some horrible things-latest one reminding me of a death of a loved one. Yet every member has an alternate view and precious thinking.

According to schools of Dune "the mind of man is holy"
Anyone into the Dune novels here btw. Amazing science fiction book series.

OMG Dune love it -- how did I miss that: "the mind of man is holy" -- that just made my day

I was thinking we start a petition/appeal on the Afghan forum to get @A-Team re-instated ?

Apparently the older dune books for a rookie or first timer are plain confusing. Its an entire new world out there and a lot to learn. I read schools of dune after a long gap in the last book I read. It was about the Bene Gesserit sisterhood and their war with another sisterhood (don't remember the name). I wasn't confused at all when I read schools of dune even though it was set after the Butlerian Jihad against the cymeks, which I hadn't read. It clarifies a lot of things, including where the mentats, swordmasters sisterhood and the Atriedes, Corrino and Harkonen houses came from. A must read for any science fiction nut out there.

As for A team. I agree. He should come back. He was a valuable member of the community. I hope he didn't go overboard with his criticism of Pakistan's taliban (perceived) policy. Even if he did, everyone deserves a second chance.

He is wrong. Indus Valley Civilisation died out because the monsoons, which fed the rivers that supported the civilisation, migrated to the east. With the rivers drying out as a result, the civilisation diminished some 4000 years ago. The Indus Valley Civilisation had the option to migrate east toward the more humid regions of the Indo-Gangetic Plain, where the decentralized late Harappan phase took place.

Latter greeks, Iranian, Afghans, Turks, mongols populated the area where once IVC people lived, over centuries they got mixed with remaining native people who stayed and didn't migrated east hence creating modern day Pakistani people. This is the reason they are fair skinned. Pakistan was always frontier, they were invaded many time and got mixed with invaders while we Indians remain isolated & pure blooded. Indians are actual inheritor of indus civilization not Pakistanis.
Except for the last three sentences, this is a very reasonable explanation. The fairer-darker dyad, the racial purity assertion, are neither useful or strictly accurate.

Unfortunately, such a carefully argued response is rarely made. Instead, such discussions sink rapidly into a slanging match, with each side making inflammatory statements.

Was it so difficult to present a logical argument?

Please note that in my own view, what you have stated is not very accurate. It is simplistic and ignores the reality of the history of Gujarat and Rajasthan, as well as the reality of the incursions into the Gangetic plains of all, starting with the Bactrian Greeks.

The proper argument to put up against what you have termed a racist view is to highlight the strong similarities in historical experience between the Indus Valley and the Ganges Plain. Instead what comes across is a backhanded corroboration of the view you had questioned.
