PDF 2014 - New Changes

. . .
1) Signature box/area needs to be separated more clearly. Some times it feels as if it is part of post.

2) I' ve noticed if we tag/mention someone he doesn't respond...i guess it is not working.
@WebMaster

3) The videos from tune.pk are not working as media but as a link...Please fix this if possible.

4) Please ask members to post their country of origin & country of residence flags.

For now that is it. Hope you will look into these concerns.

. . .
The new look is a lot less usable. Please focus on forum usability. Bells and whistles are good but should not be prioritized over usability.

I selected the older style from the style chooser and the forum homepage layout is broken. So the older styles are unusable as well.

this layout is confusing to me, specially reading posts. :undecided:

@WebMaster
The default font size is a little bit small, I think i would be better if you increase it a little bit.
The Location flags are not shown as well. :(
PS. The new theme is very nice as well.:tup:

Changed to old style look in options. Its OK, but side bar takes too much place. Possible to reduce or remove it? Thanks.

  • Optimal line length for readability is 65 characters. The old design was around 60 characters, the new design is well over 100. That's the reason it's difficult to read on the new design.

  • Move the messageUserBlock / author info box back to the left. Top of content is no place for author attribution.
    Maintain consistency with internet standards. When I'm looking for a login / register button on a website, my eye instinctively looks to the top-right of the page. Because that's where I expect to find them. So standard elements need to be where users expect standard elements to be.
    Author info is expected to the left on forums, that's where my eye glances at when I'm looking for author information. Also, the content columns should look clean and have as little noise as possible. The author boxes breaks the reading flow.

  • Location flags, in my opinion, are are important as it allows us to contextually determine credibility of the author.

    Maintain text margins - easier to read

  • Post timestamp ( x minutes ago at bottom of each post) is only visible on mouseover. Why keep it hidden if you've already reserved space for it?

  • @500 - One idea is to make the sidebar collapsible
