True, but not as big of a concern. KPK shouldn't be divided until FATA is at the same level as the rest of the province, and Punjab is already being divided anyway.

AU's solve exactly this problem. Area's can't be effectively governed using the current structure; it will take 10 further decades for FATA to come up to the same level.

The world has come a long way and delegation of power is the way to go. You can't really expect to govern large areas from a single seat. All it does is consolidate power and corrupts the seat holder.

Baluchistan is in the dumps due to the succession of baloch sardars since independence, who have been ruling the provience like its their personal fifdom.
They have become filthy rich by squandering money left n right.

Pakistan realistically needs > 50 Administrative units. All provinces based on ethnic / linguistic divides needs to be dissolved.

Ethnic/linguistic divides have their own mechanism of formation and existence. You can leave them. For administrative purpose Pakistan can have a side by side system of administrative units in the form of counties.

Baloch people have an identity which gives them confidence and belief to live their life with distinction and show it to the world. Their history might go very deep into past but events of past 70 years have proven that they're here to stay.

Now, Pakistan can actually help them to achieve their glory.

- Set the domain of every tribe so that they can solve intertribal matters accordingly, as well as having their area of expertise.


- Kartarpur Corridor is helping bridge people of Pakistan and India. Balochistan has potential to bring Pakistan and Iran closer.

Baluchistan needs no special status, because there is no Baluchistan problem, tribal issues do not amount to a provincial wide problem. Correct recognition of issues is important.

The tribal chiefs in Baluchistan are extremely powerful and do not wish to give up their hold on the people. They can see the change in society, only some have chosen to fight to defend their hold on power. That life will be opened by modern life, it is simply inescapable.

When Musharraf got rid of the A and B areas, there was a backlash, and soon as the political parties were in power, the A and B areas were bought back. This setup favours the tribal Sardars because it gives then greater control over financial affairs and local law and order issues.

The Baluchistan problem is about transitioning to modernity, and nothing else. Even then only few of the tribal chiefs are resisting, but all and certainly not the majority.
