Why is he so popular among some of the Pakistanis?
intahai jhoota insan. @Leader posted a video some days back. infront of his followers he take all the cradit for blasphemy law. and infront of media he refuses. and says blasphemy law only implents to muslims. it is not for non muslims. jhota shakhs.
Why is he so popular among some of the Pakistanis?
I believe he wants to bring himself as undisputed self-imposed khalifa.
A Caliph is for all Muslim states and not for one. He supports democracy. He doesn't believe in a single Caliph for all States.
I disagree with your definition.. In the time of Hazrat Ali (RA) we had two khalifa... One Hazrat Ameer Mawaya (RA) who were looking after Egypt side... Also, same thing in times of Hazrat Hassan (RA). You r mixing Imamat with Khilafat ... there are a clear definitions of both among most of the sects of Islam (with little difference).
Any how, He is nothing a Joker, but He has large number of followers here in Pakistan... So if He start some moment, then huge number of the people will follow him. As usual the people like us, will sit back and don't do anything...
I believe he wants to bring himself as undisputed self-imposed khalifa.
Recently he had used every trick to present himself as some kind of super natural spritual leader which btw all were against sharia.
i wont be suprised if he claimed having some visions .
After Zardari Tahir Qadri is punishment from God version 2.0.
Dr Qadri is a good man and quite knowledgeable, i have respect for the man for his academic work but he should stay out of politics. Its not his domain.
I, have met him personally, seems like a chilled as dude but he should stay out of politics.
Read the history my brother, the battles fought at the time of Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA) and the rest Sahabas' (RA)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Al-Habbab Ibn ul-Munthir (RA) said:
"Let there be one Amir from us and one Amir from you (meaning one from the Ansar and one from the Mohajireen)."
Upon this Abu Bakr Siddique (RA) replied:
"It is forbidden for Muslims to have two Amirs (rulers)..."
Then he got up and addressed the Muslims.
"It is forbidden for Muslims to have two Amirs for this would cause differences in their affairs and concepts, their unity would be divided and disputes would break out amongst them. The Sunnah would then be abandoned, the bida’a (innovations) would spread and Fitna would grow, and that is in no one’s interests."
The Sahaba (RA) agreed to this and selected Abu Bakr (RA) as their first Caliph. Habbab ibn Mundhir (RA) who suggested the idea of two Ameers corrected himself and was the first to give Abu Bakr (RA) the Bay'ah. This indicates an Ijma as-Sahaba of all of the Sahaba. Ali ibni abi Talib (RA) also consented to this.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said;
"The tribe of Israel was guided by prophets. When a prophet passed away, another prophet succeeded him. But no prophet will come after me; only caliphs will succeed me."
(Bukhari)
