@TMA @Sully3 @Kabira
I'd say first you need to figure out who exactly you mean when you say "Pakistan". Because all I see is that you've reduced the entire state to the establishment, why else would you consider protestd against the establishment as "war against Pakistan".
Yes ofcourse factions like the BLA or militants in tribal areas have foreign support. Why wouldn't neighboring countries aid our stabilization. But when you've decided to shut your brain down and automatically label all protests and movements as "5th generation warfare" (regardless of how righteous the movement is). How hard is it for you to realize that people do indeed have legitimate grievances ?
I have not shut down my brain, rather I am using it....All protests are not necessarily "5th Gen War" but ALL protests CAN BECOME part of the 5th Gen War and the State needs to keep an eye on it...
I could turn around and say why have you closed your eyes to this fact...?
Definitions are very important but can take a long time to agree upon, so let me agree with your use of legitimate (whatever that means as one man's legitimate is another's illegitimate but that is another debate although it is most relevant...)
Of course there are legitimate grievances and the State needs to address them. I am not denying this. If the State does not then it only bodes ill for Pakistan as the enemies will take advantage of this. However this is no excuse for Pakistanis then to engage in illegal activities/anti-State activities if their grievances are not addressed as per their wishes.
Pakistanis are an emotional bunch... What they fail to see is that Pakistan is in a state of (hybrid) war where the enemies are wishing to create strife and weaken the country from within...common Pakistanis who are demanding redress for their legitimate grievances MUST comprehend this fact. They can be (mis)used, even unknowingly to further spread strife in Pakistan.
These movements, may start off sincere but given the fact that Pakistan is in a state of (hybrid) war, it would be SUICIDAL for the State to not have a close eye on them as these movements can and ARE utilised to create destability.
If a movement takes help from outside (I include citizens of another country taking part in these movements as outside help) then, IMHO, it is open to being used against the State for sinister purposes and the State then needs to take appropriate action against such movements. If a movement demands the abolishment of those actions which have lead to the security of country in this state of war against foreign backed Khawarij terrorist, then IMHO, it is open to being used against the State for sinister purposes. IMHO this PTM has crossed this line.
Look at the example of Syria. There were many Syrians who had legitimate grievances. However their strategy was utterly foolish. They thought that outside forces were sincere to them. Nay, the external forces just wanted to use them to create destability in an attempt to overthrow Assad...now they have even more grievances than before...
Look at the case of Libya, many Libyans had legitimate grievances but they took "help" form outside and now what...?Even more grievances....
Pakistan is not Syria nor Libya, of course, but her war rages on and the vultures are still circling... far above...
