Pashtun and Baloch are two major ethnic communities in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. So i wanted to ask that do these both communities intermarry with each other or not in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. Moreover in which language do they converse with each other? Do both speak and understand each other's languages or not? I am asking this as i want to know more abt Balochistan's culture, social dynamics etc

Its strange that a Pakistani is asking about their own people living in Pakistan , demographic distribution and mingling of native people should be known to a native Pakistani unless you are living outside of Pakistan .

been to quetta a few times actually i never noticed any baluch its heavily dominated by pushtuns or may be i didnt had a chance to travel around the city .. pushtun food is awsome though

Baluch and Pashtun communities fight a lot over resources.

The Marri Tribe was in war with a Pashtun tribe over a coal mine.

I've got a friend, from Quetta, whose Dad is a Makrani Baloch whilst his Mom is a Pashtun lady; I dunno whether that was just a one-off thing or are there more Pashtun-Baloch inter-marriages ! :)

I reckon @DESERT FIGHTER is indeed the right person to tell us that !

Makrani and pashtun? thts pretty rare.. anyways... there are more pashtuns than baluch in quetta.... and intermarriages are not "too" common ... as for communication... its not very hard to guess ... is it?

Tht issue was resolved.. and it wasnt been the whole tribe marris vs pashtuns but between the residents of the areas.... and it was resoved by the army and the elders..
