If India is looking for foreign collaborator then we should think a little bit bigger especially because longer endurance will further reduce the operational cost. I think the best bet is joining Boeing in their Solar Eagle project and i don't think US will say no. Solar Eagle can stay at a height of 60,000 feet for upto 30-90 days followed by the one which can operate for five years (like a satellite). We should go for this.

current hyper-activity on uavs by drdo is making me optimist about this project. rustom is clocking more no of flights, its mini version with pulsejet, enhanced lakshya. i think they are pretty serious in this sector and not to forget the funding. not like tejas or arjun case which got funding after 6-7 years of sanctioning, they are getting more than half funding on project detailing itself.
