Pandemic speeds up iPhone makers' plans to exit China

such big changes dont happen overnight. will take some years to move out of china. Apple etc also have to maintain their supply and quality.. they cant just switch overnight.. language barrier has to be sorted somehow .. i assume CN and vietnamese are quite different.. ( excellent interpreters will be needed) .
and finally , the infrastructure - where china beats every one ..
i think we are talking about 5 year time which is enough for china to take complete lead in every thing..
on a related note , i will buy huawei mate x pro and ditch microsoft surface book 3. ?( both will come out in may 2020).
many are loving chinese products.. its only going one way - up up up , irrespective what you read in articles written in ENGLISH .
maddog (usa) is biting everyone at the moment ,, it will calm down soon

Huawei owns the most 5G patents. anyone using the patents has to pay Huawei. Android Open Source Project is not Google Android. AOSP is free to use for anyone. Huawei also has the Chinese market. Just like how many US companies can get huge simply by selling to US market. Vietnam and Germany are both export dependent markets. China isn't. China has the same export dependence as the US.

China also isn't a food exporter.

Yes anyone that uses Huawei patent must pay money. But does anybody need patents of Huawei? I wonder why Huawei has so many patents? 5g is an international standard. Nobody needs to pay a cent to use 5g.
I assume those patents are related to how to make components and parts.
Even if anyone needs Huawei patents, the fee is cent worth. That is not much money. Unless a company can sell millions of millions of smartphones that have Huawei patents inside. Who will? Samsung or Apple?

Seriously, people will prefer to buy a BMW than any chinese branded cars at any day. Even if chinese carmakers have hundred thousands patents.

Huawei and any other chinese companies can only prosper when they cooperate with the West. But since the relationship goes sour, Huawei is doomed.

Same fate for other stuffs, people in the West will shun chinese products when they realize China is a hostile country.

Yes android is open source, google android not. But google android is standard that people use. Same like Linux or Unix. People will buy variants originated in the West, from companies like Sun, Red Hat.

nope Huawei's patents are related to the core 5G signal standards.

Huawei makes $1.4 billion simply from allowing companies to use its patents: https://www.ft.com/content/292476da-98bf-11e9-9573-ee5cbb98ed36

you aren't allowed to legally call your product 5G without meeting these standards.

I mean you can believe what you want. The public can see who has more knowledge and who is frothing at the mouth with emotional diatribes.

Did you bother to read the articles you posted at all. Apparently not. I can’t open the second url. You are too illiterate.
