Major Iqbal? What's the significant of a junior officer?
And no, we do not agree on SSG being involved in Kargil War, as my stance is that SSG was not involved. It was only a Rangers/FC type of force which was later inducted into mainstream Army as NLI.
There are failures and then there are failures. SSG did not fail in holding and defending any occupied territory until it had no option but to withdraw from the fight, and that is because of lack of ammunition and ration rather then anything that Indian Military could muster in terms of actual combat. And when has Pakistan Army not given a befitting reply to Indian Army ........ other then the occasion when Pakistan was at war with itself?
And now I have to tell you what stopped PAF from entering the Kargil war? It is apparent to even a child that PAF could not enter Kargil war as Pakistan was officially denying any involvement in Kargil as a strategic measure. Could IAF provided the level of support, it did to Indian Army, had PAF been deployed to engage them? Could the Indian Army mount assaults in the manner they did had Pakistan Army been deployed to engage them officially?
PAF was BVR equipped ever since Mirages got their ROSE upgrades! any other tale is just a story that IAF spreads as it cannot come out and say that PAF was not allowed to engage as the official stance of Pakistan was of non-involvement in Kargil.
1. major Iqbal was martyred in Kargil and he belong to SSG . so was PA 33654 CAPT Muhammad Ammar Hussain SSG Kargil ( He was even awarded with a medal cant remind what was the name sitara e jurat something like that ) actually have to waste my time to find his Number so that u dont say SSG was not involved in op Kargil . Its few names of SSG men's gundown in Kargil . In total 68 SSG soldiers were killed ( approx )
Rest for your question about Indian Army u should remember that Indian army won Kargil height in 1971 , 1965 and 1947-48 when the so called PA was officialy involved .
So in simple yes we can do the Op Kargil even if PAF or Pa is officialy involved .

Ok, now I have to ask......which war are we arguing on, the Kargil war of 1999 or some other battle?
And I do not have to read links, they are for your consumption. I know things, some of which are now widely available. And some you have to put 2 and 2 together, what was the point of getting a BVR upgrade without deploying BVR Missiles?
????
SEALs have a dedicated night strike element, they are called NightStalkers. The USASF NightStalkers are an entirely different organisation, its essentially an aviation wing which operates with SOF units.
????
I have read the article, that is why I pointed out that time's 40 minutes
as i said before navy do have a special operations aviation for night operations. but the name night strike is the name of Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne)
^^^ these are army's NightStalkers deploying seals. US navy don't have a large the special operations helicopter units as army have. even in operation neptune spear, that stealth choppers are flown by army aviation pilots.

Actually i can even add 1965 war SSG para Commandos but kept it for later just in case if u tried to drag the thread further .
And Brother it was by PAF officer i mean the link i provided u above but since u dont want to read your wish .
3) Russia's Alpha Group is one of the best known special forces units in the world. This elite anti-terrorism unit was created by the KGB in 1974 and remains under its modern day counterpart, the FSB.
Russian special forces, and the Alpha Group in particular, came under criticism during the 2002 Moscow hostage crisis where 129 hostages died from the effects of the gas used to knock-out militants who had seized a theatre.
2) Spain's Unidad de Operaciones Especiales, or the Naval Special Warfare Force as it has become since 2009, has long been one of Europe's best respected special forces. Originally established as the volunteer Amphibious Climbing Company unit in 1952, it has since followed the SAS's example to become an elite fighting force.
Earning the UOE green beret, however, is a big ask with the failure rate of candidates averaging 70-80%. It's not uncommon for 100% of new recruits to be rejected.
1) The Special Services Group, SSG, in Pakistan is better known in the country as the 'Black Storks' due to the commandos' unique headgear. Training reportedly includes a 36-mile march in 12 hours and a five-mile run in 20 minutes in full gear.
In October 2009, SSG commandos stormed an office building and rescued 39 people taken hostage by suspected Taliban militants after an attack on the army's headquarters.

The argument was for Siachin only, no?
As for martyrdoms in SSG, they have many such proud moments to boast. They go in where there is no hope and are expected to achieve the unimaginable. Most of their achievements are not officially listed. You can discuss the 1965 war but let me tell you in advance that the paratroopers, used in operation Gibraltar, were NOT from SSG!
Regardless of the link being from anywhere, officially PAF could not engage IAF as Pakistan was NOT officially at WAR with India in Kargil and thus your argument is futile.
And from now on, kindly provide links to all claims such as the 1995 attack and martyrdom of 40 SSG soldiers. That will provide me a complete picture to argue on.

New Recruit
the aussies obviously are making fun of you and you don't even know it. It's hard to blow steam at the ridiculous.
BTW your ssg is quite useless - lost every war, made a mess of every operation..eg: lal masjid
messed up every operation? if that was the case then ssg wouldnt be as famous or as popular as it is indias special forces are so useless that nobody even knows what theyre called xD
Because you guys bought the balochi tribal leaders with biryani xDGood read, one question though ...... if these guys are so smart how come RAW is doing so much havoc in Pakistan ?
you mean away leg xDWell good for pakistan.
But true excellence of such a force cannot be measured until they perform some succesfull missions away from home
