What's new

Pakistan's stubbornness costing US Rs 2019 crore a month!

ok so why do Americans seem so keen to get them open again.

May be to check Pakistan's honesty on WOT.

A few billion here and there in a trillion dollar war don't meant much in reality.

Exactly $38 million per month is like peanuts for America and Northern Distribution network is safer than Pakistani supply route.

Some how, The real experts at NATO tend to disagree with you.

Nato head urges Pakistan to reopen supplies in time for summit | DAWN.COM

The real "real" experts behind these "real" experts are simply painting, slowly and steadily, a picture of repeated requests for collaboration that are being turned down, so that it gets easier and easier to paint Pakistan has a problem that must be solved.

It would advisable for Pakistan to to adopt policies that will avoid making it a target while protecting its national interests as best as it can. Otherwise, the outcome will most certainly not going to be to its liking.

Americans are just trying to normalize relation.
But why do they feel the need to do so? Apparently there is a lot more at stake here, which obviously NATO can see, but Indians are just in denial about it. Had it been that easier for them at first place, they wouldn't have bothered to involve Pakistan at all.

Haqqani network and North Waziristan.

During these entire years of WoT, Pakistan had the chance of being a part of the solution.

It chose to be a part of the problem.

Pakistan still has a little bit of time left to revise its choices. Not much, but there is still a window open. I hope it decides its future course wisely.

That's right but my point is that all Pakistan had to do was win the hearts and minds of the Afghan people. Help them build hospitals, schools, highways and they will automatically end up having a pro-Pakistan govt. Isn't that what Pakistan always wanted? A pro-Pakistan govt. in Afghanistan?

It was so much doable even without the gun and the bombs.

It's very easy to win over people with love and compassion and very difficult to do so with guns.

All that Pakistan had to do was to use its influence to get the taliban to mend its ways, help the people of Afghanistan, put some investment there and build them some schools and hospitals.

...and those people would have ended up singing hymns in praise of Pakistan.

Win-Win for all.

But Alas!

The shortsighted Pakistani Generals had to choose the way of guns.

A few billion here and there in a trillion dollar war don't meant much in reality.

Then why is US and NATO officials asking us to open the route ?? You have the Iranian route, Russian route is open, what;s the big deal in Pak route is not money ??

They have the other routes and are open.

I would rather concentrate on where to go next rather than where we've been, in this instance. There is hope yet.

If this news is true then I am happy to hear that. USA's loss is peanuts if you compare with a Pakistani loss of over 35000 lives and 70 billion in dollars, you can recover the amount but not the lives of lost ones. What a hypocrisy.

As I have explained before, it is not the routes, but the greater picture that is of concern. Perhaps you missed this post:

I think after so many years, pakistan is doing the right thing and has adopted the correct policy. Enough is enough.

And keep the threats to yourself. And i hope and believe the current stand taken is kept up and continued.

I am not making any threats, none at all. If you think Pakistan can maintain its current stand, I can only wish you luck, if indeed that is what you want.
