Pakistan’s security is security of Iran: Iranian President

If these products were of poor quality then Europe and the US wouldnt constitute 25% of our exports.

Prices are also cheaper due to our closer proximity and would expect to get cheaper as our energy demands begin to be met.
The only stuff that get imported is for one to one retailers. With frequent power shortage and complacency Pakistan is losing a lot of good opportunities

Certainly, Balochistan is an issue that has been used by the likes of Israel and India to rile up tensions in the region. Both Pakistan and Iran are to face the consequences if we dont corporate against foreign powers seeking to use the facade of "helping" the Baloch people and in turn causing strife in both Iran and Pakistan. There is no dividing "our" and "your" Balochistan. Instability in one will most certainly seep into the other.

And what excatky is exported to them in terms of item

Same, Lunghi nation kicked you backside and beat your supposedly one of best arm forces in the world. And count yourself lucky if it wasnt for India, 93k Pakistani soldiers would have been finished by mukti bahini.

Funny how 36,000 troops including eng, med, education corps officers banged you for 9 months...

93k lol.. Hope you know that number included civilian officials, police, doctors, nursing staff and even woman and children.

36K vs 75 million Banglis + 1:120 ratio indian troops

lets see if its going to be materialized or its just pipe dream.. kali bun dshan raw agent told us that so many of them are using the port as a cover to attack pakistan.. Iran should remove Ranwd agents.. and i hope we have good relation with iran...:pakistan::pakistan::cheers:

Nice developments. But one should know that what Iran's pres said is not something magical or merely a goodwill gesture. Not just for Iran, but security of neighbors is security of fellow neighboring countries. This is no joke. No matter what some may think, no sane country compromises its own security by trying to destabilize neighbors. Pakistan and Turkey both have bitter experiences in this regard with respect to Afghanistan and Syria.

Hopefully, more bright days are ahead in Iran-Pak relations.

If i'm not wrong, what Iranian president has said yesterday was already said by the former Pakistani foreign minister at a time when US/Israel were preparing to Attack on Iran.
and even former Pakistani President said that we are standing with Iran if Iran is attacked.

You have read the leaf correctly; message from Iranian President is exactly that - india has no chance of Iran as spring board for its terrorist network against Pakistan. This is utterly devastating for indian terror scheme.

On top of that, Iran poured cold water to indian monkey jumping using Iran and Iran's Chabahar port. For Iran it's no brainer to take part in Corridor, port and business activities when Pakistan and China are two largest energy consumers with continuous land route. Chabahar and Gawdar always complement each other rather than just be competitor. Iran can see that clearly and that good news. Such Iranian realization is 2nd blow to indian delusions.

Over last 48 hrs, quite a bit water gone under the bridge in int'l diplomacy and indian desperate bid to isolate Pakistan. Its time to take a tally on devastating results for india.

You summed it up well.

Iran and India cooperation is purely business. Nothing more, nothing less. Strategically, Iran is definitely going to be better off with Pakistan and China.

There are some contradictions in Iran and India relationship on strategic level.

India and Israel are close buddies while Iran and Israel are mortal enemies. India uses the Israeli lobbies to target Pakistan in America--the same lobbies which are hyper against Iran. Thus, so long as Iran and Israel don't become truly trusting friends, Iran will remain wary of Indian intentions in the region. Also, I am pretty sure Iran hasn't forgotten India's backstabbing during the vote about nuclear technology some years ago. Besides.. a destabilized Pakistan is definitely not in Iran's interest--and vice versa.

Pakistanis are pro Iran. But Pakistanis are also sensitive to KSA's expectations. It's a balancing act which Pakistani foreign office has done a pretty damn good job despite some recent flare ups.

blaming india and israel for your internal problems is a cope out

public statements aside why are Iran and Israel mortal enemies ?? they do not share a boundary. iran cannot destroy israel. Neither can Israel destroy Iran.

If KSA declares Shias as heretics you cannot tap dance around it. Either you agree with the Saudis or not.

We have not much to offer Iran in trade may export some cotton products, surgical instruments and wheat / rice but since Iran has limited concept of importing things to save foreign reserves.

Does pakistan produce dalchini? Perhaps that's another thing you can export to them?

NEW YORK – Iranian President Dr. Hassan Rouhani on Thursday said that “Pakistan’s security is security of Iran.”

Iranian President expressed his support when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and he held a meeting on the sidelines of the 71st UN General Assembly session.

Both sides expressed satisfaction on the positive trajectory of bilateral ties between Pakistan and Iran. The lifting of international sanctions against Iran has paved the way for resumption of economic relations between the two countries with a view to realizing the true potential of bilateral trade. Current trade volume remains low at US$ 268 million per annum.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif apprised President Rouhani of Indian brutalities in Kashmir, particularly in the past two months. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have been victims of heinous acts of state sponsored terrorism at the hands of Indian occupation forces. The Prime Minister shared the latest situation in Kashmir, which continues to remain tense in the wake of the uprising that has surfaced in response to Indian barbaric acts in the Valley.

Opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the field of energy, especially oil, gas and electricity were also discussed. The two sides noted that progress on Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline and electricity import from Iran would help overcome Pakistan’s energy shortages in the coming years.

The Iranian President said that Iran can install a power plant on border with Pakistan to supply electricity. We consider Pakistan’s economic development as our development, the President added.

There is a need for defence cooperation between Iran and Pakistan as there is a history of defence cooperation between the two countries, the President mentioned.

There is also immense need for cooperation between Iran and Pakistan in the field of science and technology; we need to benefit from each others strong points in science and technology, the President stressed.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif stressed on the need to remain engaged at expert level to remove whatever technical delays that continue to hold back resumption of full economic cooperation between the two countries.

President Rouhani lauded the vision of the Prime Minister for translating CPEC into reality along with and expressed his desire to be part of the CPEC.

Connectivity projects were recognized by both Pakistan and Iran as vital to the progress of the region. In particular, the two leaders reiterated the complimentarily between Gwadar and Chabahar sea ports that could boost regional trade exponentially in the decades ahead.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that he will nominate two focal persons who will finalize energy projects with Iran in coming days.

The Prime Minister said that the hearts of the people of Pakistan and Iran beat together. Iran is a brotherly country. Our interests are same; we need to further consolidate our economic cooperation, expressed the Prime Minister.

Border management and security were also discussed .

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also stressed on the need for building unity and cohesion within the Muslim world, particularly at a time of such great turmoil.

The Iranian President said that the future of Iran and Pakistan is similar and bright. The President extended an invitation to the Prime Minister for visiting Iran.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that he has great affection for Iranian brothers since 1967. He accepted the invitation and said that he will visit Tehran soon.

The Prime Minister was assisted by Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, among others.

The two leaders had last met during President Rouhani’s visit to Islamabad this year.

It is good to see the good steps of Iran attracting towards Pakistan because Iran has known now that Pakistan can play an important role as an Islamic State in their security as well and with recent development of CPEC on Gawadar Iran knew that Pakistan could be the ruler in the Asia as all the transport touches our soil while passing by either it is the transport going to the east or west. Mean while Iran's attraction towards Pakistan can also be because of the reason that Pakistan will be on a better position by the end of this year because of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and the ongoing excersices so with the increase in relations of Pakistan with Russia as well Iran might think growing relations with Pakistan is a better option both for trade as well as security concerns. I think it is a good move by the both prime ministers as our PM Nawaz also accepted the invitation of counter part to visit Iran soon.

Failure of our policies, Iran is not be blamed for it.
Pakistan's external trade for the financial year 2015 stood at $70 billion ($24 billion in exports and $46 billion in imports) but somehow, it's Pakistan's fault that Iran has reduced it's trade with Pakistan.

Read again the quoted post

What bongi you speak of my brother? Is the one which fails to mention decreased trade with Pakistan and increased trade with the Eastern Gremlins?

What bongi you speak of my brother?
What does Pakistan has to offer them in terms of export.
