Pakistan’s Population to Cross 306 Million By 2050

Doubt India will have that many people.
Our rate of population growth has gone down tremendously. It is now 1.2% only.

If the population control among the Muslim population gains steam, it should come down to 1% or below. (ideal)
Thats still 130 million every decade genius

Pakistan should exploit the population for good, but also make it harder for them to make more kids. One would argue that it can be done by education, but unfortunately I as of a Pakistani origin know that the people are never going to listen unless something is forced. More kids means more requirement of jobs, food, water, space to live which will fuel poverty (due to mismanagement ofcourse), poverty means more people become prey to terrorists who will use them for their takfiri cause.

Dude, nations ALWAYS need population growth bc the older generation keeps on dying. If you don't reproduce yourself---you end up like Japan or Germany. Aging, dying populations. Now Germany and Japan are EXTREMELY wealthy and technologically advance. They can sustain aging and dying populations for decades thanks to their economies being hyper mechanized and massive wealth in the society.

If aging and dying populations hit a nation in their developing phase---boom, collapse. There's no other way. What you should be arguing for is a stable population growth (2, 3 kids on average etc) with a fertility rate of 2.5 kids or so...we as a nation are getting there. So that's not an issue.

Don't just go off from cliche's...learn about the issue of demographics in totality

I dont think Pakistan will reach 300 million unless the economy and development stays slow. Probably will peak around 270 million.
It does have a relatively low population density compared to India but more desert as well.

Lol, 300 million is almost a demographic certainity for Pakistan unless something catastrophic happens.

You aren't familiar with population pyramids I believe.

Even if we control our fertility to just 2 kids on average---we will still hit 300 mark. :)

Nothing bad in it though..as I have tried to explain in other posts here.

I completely understand where you are coming from but massive population growth has been disastrous for Pakistan. The government was unable to provide them with jobs and food which is one of the main reason of so many uneducated youths been used by terrorists, for ill purpose of course.

@AUz

@American Pakistani has a valid point. What makes you think that Pakistan could use the potential of 300 m people if the current political establishment can't even take the advantage of a big population like 200 m? I'm just asking. No trolling here.

States like USA; China; Russia; Brazil are countries with big populations but they also have huge natural resources.

The best way to control population is by getting people with 3 or more kids to fill their tax returns to show how they plan to feed and educate their kids. People that don't submit tax returns and have 3 or more kids would have to pay penalties every year that they don't submit a tax return.

Obviously this will only occur if the 3rd child is born in the future and should not apply to families that already have 3 or more kids as that would be unfair

China is heavily investing in AI and automation. I doubt Pakistan will be able to harness any demographic advantages in the future from this growing and young population.

.
We're mixed with Central Asians, unite and make one big country so our future population has room to grow. :raise:

Again all Pakistani members are spoiling the thread by arguing with Indian trolls!!!!
Why cant you just ignore these mindless slum zombies??!!!! :hitwall:

Why is African population exploding? Are they not short of food, agricultural land and water?

Africa is very diverse geographically speaking. Large parts are dry and arid (sahel region especially) but Nigeria for example is lush green.

How will they survive when we stop the flow of the Indus?
Flow of Indus. do visit that area and please let me know how you stop that flow. how u dig 300 km long tunnel that cost you around 70 to 80 billion USD. and the effect may be 5 to 10 % less water in indus.
i hope u wont think every drop in indus is directly coming from its source. its not like water tank in your house. there are various glaciers that feed it and most of them are in Pakistan.
do try it nothing will happen.

I think a petition needs to be given in Supreme Court which forces the govt. to take active measures against the bulging population.

Pakistan should focus tooth and nail in terms of exploiting the potential of such a vast population by implementing effective and modern mass education programs geared towards local culture and senstivities--building a massive network of high-tech institutes for higher education, having independent and effective institutions and so on.
Need to learn from Singapore, especially in the sustainable urban development. Increasing population is bound to cause an increase in traffic, housing needs, electricity, water and sewage system demands.
