Pakistan's missed opportunity

Did you know that India has by FAR the largest trade deficit in the developing world? (Worst fiscal deficit too).

And the majority of India's enormous trade deficit... is owed to China.

Our currency reserves are almost $4 trillion, we don't need all those billions from India, but you give it to us anyway. Every year. While destroying your own economic competitiveness in the process.

This is Sun Zi. :P

Think it in reverse. What happen when India shut down trade relations with China.China may suffered more loss than us.

ayub "kutta" khan was the biggest curse on Pakistan, his betrayal of the country by letting a golden opportunity go like the 1962 joint sino-pak attack offer, cannot be forgiven, Bhutto was right when he called ayub khan a "kutta" , the lanti was after all a U.S lapdog

Actually yes.

If you read that thread, you will note that my premise was based on two main arguments:

The first was that Pakistan must start pulling its own weight in economic, military and diplomatic terms. China can't keep supporting Pakistan forever, since even the best of friends will get tired eventually.

My other point was that the Pak-China relationship is mostly at the government/military level, not the grassroots people level. Pakistanis have failed to leverage the good relations into an economic and cultural bond with the Chinese masses.

Indians, by contrast, are making cultural and grassroots connections with Chinese people -- the businessman, the student, the housewife.

As China becomes mode democratic, India's groundwork will pay off as most ordinary Chinese won't know a thing about Pakistani people or culture.

same that happens to the USSR.While US make cultural interactions with all world with their softpower industry,USSR cant propogate their Russian language and culture.I got that

.
If Pakistan would have sided with th Chinese, it would have alost a lit more than gain.

Would it have got Kashmir? Maybe, would it have been able to keep it from being taken back by India and then some, not likely.

Fallout of going against US would have been something like Iran multiplied by 10.

Forget the nukes, US would have sanctioned you into worse shape than somalia.

Forget all the fancy toys (F16, Sabers, artillery tanks) and the huge aid donated by US, Pakistani economy would have been stone age pretty quick.

China couldnt reaplce US now, with all its money, it wouldnt have been willing to do anything for Pak when it was poor itself.

So no, Pakistan did not miss any opportunity, in fact Ayub saved a lot of Pakistanis from starving to death, just as musharraf did.

You guys should be thankful to them.

In 1971 when PA is fighting a loose war with IA .IA called support reinforcements from BSF and when BSF arrives PA think it may be chinese help. They even shout about it.But when came to near they realise it is their enemy.

ok Pakistan loose one chance.
What about China loose 3 chances?

Try again this time .let see what happens.

Chinese are the most selfish breed on the face of this earth.

When Nixon and Kissinger were asking China to open up a himalyan front to save the pakistanis, Chinese flatly refused, so much for friendship.

At least the Americans sent a carrier to threaten india, and probably saved West pakistan from being run over as well. Chinese were content letting another US client state being torn apart.

Indians have valid points actually , this whole thread is hypocritical by the OP cuz of the simple fact that he says Pakistan should have invaded India with China but alas do you forget when we went to war 3 times? Why did you not invade? I'll tell you why because it wasn't in you country's interest it's a one way street with you Chinese , real brother hood is with the Turks not Chinese we are only strategic allies and nothing more, also back at that time ayub did make the best decision, China had nothing America was the worlds boss

. .
So the logic here is, China which withdrew and went back without their Arunachal pradesh, would have magically had pakistan keep Kashmir?

and of course in a two war front , the russians and americans would just let it happen.

This theory sounds like something that comes out of a desert, in a paper format- at the end of a chinese dinner...

I can play the " proclamation game too"--

If India had joined Japan or better yet US not had not forced japan to leave china-- china would still be called 'the land of the rising sun part deux!'

India joining the US camp is no issue at all.

What did the USA do when Russia invaded their ally Georgia? They said some friendly things to Georgia, then didn't do anything.

What about South Korea, arguably America's closest ally in the region? They were bombed to Hell by North Korea, who even sunk a South Korean battleship, killing hundreds of South Korean military personnel. As well as killing South Korean civilians with artillery bombardment.

America is the expert at this game. They said some friendly words to South Korea, but didn't help them against multiple fatal attacks from North Korea.

You think America could not militarily punish North Korea? They could obviously do it, but they choose not to, every time. They are clever, they let others fight it out, while they grow stronger on the sidelines.

CD is at last agreeing that China copies everything that USA does...but doing this to your best friend ....not cool!

You are so wrong. The more we know India, the more it become a laughstock for us. If you know Chinese and visiting our comments. you will see that 99% opinion about their news is laughable and sarcastic: no matter its so called democratic bullshit or military progress, whatever. Especially for those who had visited India, with vivid and juicy story

LOL. Chinese people do not like indians for the most part. You people come to our school because your schools suck. Here's what Chinese people know of Indians:
1. They eat curry
2. their rivers have floating shit
3. They defacate openly
4. They eat without utensils
5. They smell
6. They do not use toilet paper

Sorry but that's the truth.

No they didn't and nor could you have run over West Pakistan. The Western theatre of operations was stable and well defended. There have been many threads on this.
