Pakistan's missed opportunity

Think logically. Will China jeopardize $75 billion annual trade figure to a security pact with Pakistan.

When your new government came, you PM made his first visit to India. It shows how serious Chinese take India.

Think logically, why is India crying about "Chinese incursions" every other day?

Do we make military incursions into Pakistan? No.

Do we issue stapled visas to Pakistani Kashmiris? No.

Do China or Pakistan claim each other's land? No.

But India does claim both Chinese and Pakistani land.

No China claims Indian land (Pak is a different issue)

It is easy to form an opinion with the benefit of hind sight.

Destinies are made on decisions taken & they are taken based on inputs available back then.

Pakistan then was a member of SEATO, an international organization for collective defense in Southeast Asia created by the Southeast Asia Collective Defense Treaty, or Manila Pact, signed in September 1954 in Manila, it was Primarily created to block further communist gains in Southeast Asia.

How could it have sided with China ? .. and would the US allowed it to do so , i.e side with a communist nation against a non communist one ? Never.

Was China in a position to replace US as an aid giver to Pakistan then ..No.

Was Pakistan then in a position to go against the US ..No.

Remember Ayub's claim to fame was his bonhomie with the west not with the East.

Nice explanation.

Think logically, why is India crying about "Chinese incursions" every other day?

Why is China crying every day on Japan-India growing relations?

Every country do those things. It is a way keeping relations in check. Relations cannot only be good, they have ugly in it too.

No China claims Indian land (Pak is a different issue)

India claims Chinese land (Aksai Chin) and Pakistani land (Kashmir).

Which is why those "Chinese incursions" are into India and not Pakistan.

Which is why it was a "Sino-Indian War", not a Sino-Pakistani War.

China and Pakistan have never had a war. In terms of territorial disputes in the Himalayan region, our interests are aligned.

. . .
But India does claim both Chinese and Pakistani land.

So many claim the same land.

Argentina claims falkland!
Pakistanis claims Kashmir
China claims AP.
Tibetan claims Tibet
Taiwan claims China

So...

What matters are ground realities, and ground realities are different. Thinking in militant way will take you nowhere.

No- In CHina's kooky logic any kind of land that ever paid tribute (say 600 years ago) belongs to the motherland. Unfortunately modern nation states do not follow that logic. If we used your logic both Sri Lanka and Indonesia should be ours. On top of it you're not democratic. No democratic state can transfer populated regions (read AP) to a dictatorship. There was no Sino Pak war because one of the first things that the pandering Pak leaders laid themselves down and gave everything CHina wanted without a hitch...that aint gonna happen with us.

No, it was a white British man called MacMahon, who drew a line across Asian territory.

Now Indians believe it is their territory, because of MacMahon's line.

The problem is that a colonial British man like MacMahon has absolutely ZERO authority to tell Asians where there land is.

No, though I do personally consider Developereo to be a "modern day" Ayub Khan.

With his ridiculous assertion that "China will ditch Pakistan and choose India instead", in a thread that he started.

I am unsure of his reasons, but I guess it must be some sort of cultural affinity with his homeland.

Actually I'm surprised at the fact that the eternal troll Developero actually said some wisdom. straight from the gut- Pak will dump CHina and Vice Versa.

It seems pretty much all the Indians here agree with Developereo's ridiculous premise that "China will ditch Pakistan and choose India instead".

Which makes sense, since such an thing would serve India's interests, not Pakistan's.

Man on humanitarian grounds, just say that China should abandon Pakistan make alliance with India to give PDF Indians some peace of mind

The fact of the matter is this: While China will continue arming Pakistan and there will certainly be a lot of cooperation between the two, China is investing far more in per capita terms and obviously in absolute terms in India.

China will never again put such an offer on the table with Pakistan, simply because India will then join the US led Japan, US, Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea alliance. Something which India has been staying away from for the hope of better relations with China.
