Pakistan's Lost Opportunity: A Blunder

You overlook another fact. The disparity is not just in human resources but also in material resources.

If Indian military doesn't defeat you, there is abundance of natural resources using which every single Pakistani can be purchased. India has longer coastline, bigger range of Himalayas and bigger land mass.

Ever wondered why Pakistan withdrew at the end of 1999 Kargil war? It is because Pakistan's rulers were bribed and told to withdraw.

bigger armies lost big wars in the past.it's not about the numbers.it's about how to survive.indian army may be bigger but pakistan army still stands proud.we don't have long coastline but we know how to survive.we are doing it from the last 70 years.people come here and talk about 71 and kargil.in 71,we were miles away from bangladesh so no reinforcement.in kargil,we left posts because of failed diplomacy and american superiority.in kargil, we changed the mindset of pak army soldiers once for all.now our soldiers believe that we can(small army) still attack bigger army.we did this in kargil and we were very aggressive.for me,numerical advantage doesn't matter now.look at our weapons.we both have missiles.it's not easy to fight against pakistan now.

Every significant officers of ISI (present as well as retired) must be clenching their fists in suppressed anger. The only way for Pakistan to stand up to India was by use of nuclear weapon. Now the opportunity to exercise nuclear option is gone because of below stated reason. India is way too big to be disturbed by tiny Pakistan. A single state of Uttar Pradesh has a population bigger than the entire population of Pakistan. Non-usage of nuclear weapon meant it was only a matter of time before Pakistan was gobbled by giant India. Nuclear tipped missiles were the only thing that came in between Indian hordes and Pakistan.

Now China has made investments in Pakistan. If Chinese interests in Pakistan are threatened due to conflict with India it will not bother to take the inconvenience of war with India. Instead it will simply dissuade Pakistan from exacerbating tension with India. Chinese would say to Pakistanis, "Exercise restraint and stave off the war or else we will withdraw the investments."

Pakistan didn't miss the opportunity. It threw it away.

As far as "standing up against India" is concerned. so bro we don't need Nuclear weapons for that. we were doing that since 1947 even without nuclear weapons.

Now coming to the "exercising nuclear option" , . tell me why would we do that ? are we insane enough to kill billion plus and get our self killed in the same process ?

Dumb article as war hysteria is Indian disease...we should better focus on economic development..the real and emerging threat is from Afghanistan up North..and even India will use Afghanistan as its staging ground to aviod direct conflict...the idea of Pakistan and India going into direct conflict across the Wahga border has been buried for good now..

another idealistic Indian.
do you really need to ask that? IAF got the sh*t beaten out of it in both of these wars
PAF was the only institution in both these wars which performed exceptionally well
They already died of heart attack after reading your Anal-ysis.
