Pakistan's Loss: A Disaster or a Blessing

.
Really? So If a Pakistani is born in Bengal he's bangali or Bangladeshi?

Ironic how even Biharis born in Bangladesh after 71 are treated so inhumanely.

Heck you people don't even help your rohingya kin yet you want to associate yourself with a Pakistani patriot and a war hero whose family once lived in east Pakistan?

How about the Pakistani member Shaheen missile, whose grandfather and uncles lived in east Pak and yet were butchered by mukti terrorists?

Why don't you come to Bangladesh, exchange your passport, learn some Bengali.

We will call you Bengali as well. We aren't as racist as the rest of the subcontinent.

There are plenty of Pakistanis here working for the textile sector (even mill owners who have moved their factories from Pakistan to Bangladesh). No one bothers them.

Eventually their children will be known as Bengalis if they blend in.

Biharis really aren't discriminated per se.....

Their uneducated status means they only do menial work such as being mechanics or being haircutters/barbers. The older biharis insist on living in ghettos in squalor instead of accepting the culture of their adopted country and becoming part of the larger society.

Their educated children speak Bengali and have blended into society in large numbers just like others over millennia.

We are a nation of mutts and our gene pool is very diverse and strong.

Very little inbreeding happening.

Bangladesh GDP growth has already hit 7%+ this year, expected to grow to 7.2% in the next ....:-)

LOL - How many people need to learn the difference between GDP/capita and GDP growth?

BD GDP/capita will grow at 6% this year for BD, and 3% for Pakistan. There is little point in growing
at 10% a year if your population growth is also 10% as that makes 0% GDP/capita growth

Check out 2015 chart, same story. HDI isn't most important or anything like that. First we need to see what HDI actually is.

"The HDI simplifies and captures only part of what human development entails. It does not reflect on inequalities, poverty, human security, empowerment, etc.."

hdi.png

"A fuller picture of a country's level of human development requires analysis of other indicators and information presented in the statistical annex of the report."
http://hdr.undp.org/en/content/human-development-index-hdi

Once Pakistan update more then decade old GDP base year then its GDP per capita will automatically increase and with it HDI. But situation on ground will remain same and that's why taking in to account only HDI doesn't show full picture.

Pakistan growth rate is 5% and will increase to 7% by end of 2018 with energy shortages coming to an end. Pakistan from here on will only go up after decade of energy shortage and terrorism.

I hope you aren't being serious. If you don't take care of HDI - then you can't progress as a nation. You need healthy, motivated, educated people in huge numbers to make progressively more complex products (like multi-layer motherboards, software/pharma products or cellphone innards). Sewing chaddis cannot be subsidized forever.....

Also for subcontinental countries the biggest factor is how many of your destitute people are actually engaged in gainful work or employment (yes even agricultural value addition).

It's called Labor force participation rate (% ages 15 and older). In my mind that is where sustainable development comes from.

Bangladesh is at around 70% in 2015 (like Thailand, Malaysia and rest of ASEAN) while rest of the subcontinent is around 50% or so.

Female participation is also very high as shown in this chart from 2011. Later figures are higher.

BD GDP/capita will grow at 6% this year for BD, and 3% for Pakistan.

Long term from 2000 to 2015. Pakistan per capita growth (PPP which is much closer to realised physical consumption than nominal) is around 4% and BD is around 6.7% - mostly because of the lower base BD started from in 2000.

Growth prediction for next 5 years in this area is:

Pakistan: 5.1%

BD: 7.8%

No doubt you are closing the gap with Pakistan quite rapidly in this area.

In 2000, your physical consumption per capita was less than half of Pakistan.

By 2021, it is predicted to be 84% of Pakistan.

Pakistanis are hoping for CPEC to kick in big time from 2020 onwards...so lets see.

Whereas this growth rate is relatively assured for BD given your already much higher GFCF rate which has been sustained for decade plus now (the inertia from that has about 10 year life cycle too at about 5 - 6% consumption growth base).

you are only 0.04% better then us in HDI
http://hdr.undp.org/en/countries/profiles/PAK
http://hdr.undp.org/en/countries/profiles/BGD
only because they uses old data cause there is no census in pakistan since 19 years but it will change after census which is just after 2 days
0.04 is not that small when highest HDI Norway(0.94) and lowest Niger(0.35) have 0.59 difference. For this 0.04 difference BD is positioned 142 and Pakistan 147.And there is no records of drastic jump on HDI for census result.HDI parameter don't depend much on census result.Different UN organization are regularly updating their data on Pakistan like any other country related to demographics, health, education, income etc. When Pakistan last conducted census it's population was 138 million, now we assume it is around 200 million. How do we know that if there was no data upgradation?

Pakistan's higher per capita ppp income already taken account in HDI calculation. It is actually us who have undercalculated ppp gdp and per capita. So if Pakistan have to overtake BD than it have to by overtaking in health, education, income growth rate, not by any statistical upgradation.

census will change the result, when last census was held the data which receive used for many year it cannot tell up and down in passing years if pakistan was able to be tackle poverty from 62% in 1987 to 12% in 2016(result can change after census) it also can increase HDI which work parallel with poverty reduction

the main cause of census is to determine amount of people living in a sq yard and how many of them have job and education

PPP is determine by different method

I've always made good friends with Bangladeshis in the US. I'm starting to think Indian Bengalis are posing as Bangladeshis on this forum. There is no hate from Pakistanis towards Bangladeshis today, rather it's the other way around. Bangladeshis are religious and are really funny guys in NYC.

I can make friends with a Bangladeshi over a sikh or Indian punjabi, even though I am Punjabi myself.

Yes, Obviously common Bangladeshis have a greater affection to other Muslims .But there is a limit bro. Go tell your Bangladeshi friends that Bengalis backstabbed in 1971 and they will certainly react.

Some will sow hatred to make hay from it - some will try to reduce it. I am in the latter group.

In person, most Pakistanis I have met are apologetic about this, but this must extend to the national level in a dispassionate manner. That is - if Pakistan wants to counter those who want to gain from the mistrust and hatred.

And Bangladeshis have to tone down as well. There is no last word in politics and diplomacy.

Those apologetic are the ones who dont know the truth, the ones who had any link with DB before 71 and were present and had relative there know the truth...and knowing that truth stops you from being apologetic. I personally know a grand mother and her grand son who survived while 18 of their family were slaughtered. All those mass graves your people talk about are mostly of ones from west Pakistan and beharis. These news were hidden in West Pakistan in fear of mass retaliation against banglais, I had many bangali friends who left peacefully without loosing anyone, we said them good bye, they sold their household stuff before they left, we did not kill or loot them...this is what we western Pakistanis are.

So yes loosing Bangladesh was a blessing in disguise for Pakistan. no doubt on that.

As far as who is better now, well you are licking boots on our common enemy for your survival while we are keeping them under our boots

There were casualties on both sides on no one should be discounting the horrific experience.

War is evil.

Forty five years has passed.

Pakistanis or Bangladeshis of the present day are not guilty of what happened.

It's time to take a lesson from this and move on.

Dear Brothers,
Pakistan was made on the name of ISLAM and ALLAH , but you brothers prefers language and ethnicity more then ISLAM , I m witness to this , I meet some Bengali brothers in 4 different countries.
And for killing , Please bring any sort of thing that can show Pakistani's Killing Bengalis in West Pakistan.
Yes there was mistakes on West Pakistani side but those are done by elite or politicians not by People of Pakistan.
Still I wish u all better future and Great country , but u all have to ask forgiveness from ALLAH and make sure You all don't lose your land to India , and make sure your 2 new subs don't fight against Pakistan in any future war with India .
Rest is history , and one day we all will know who is responsible !!!!!!! and believe me that day will come !!!!!!

Bro don't come with this Pakistan was made in the name of Islam etc etc. I don't buy into it, man is flawed, our way of life isn't. No country/government or any other similar entity in the world follows Islam accordingly. Leave our perfectly fine religion out of this.

Bro don't come with this Pakistan was made in the name of Islam and Allah.

And what do you propose it was created for then? What else was the reason it had 2 wings at its inception connected only by one reason (and it proved to not be enough).

I made my point clear in the first post. There is no model Islamic country at this moment in time. Pakistan is definitely not one of them, or even close.
