Now that Bajwa-Faiz duo is no more there, NAB officials probably feared that they might be asked for the evidence, which they really lack.

1) I do not know if you are familiar with NAB law or not. But as per NAB law, in the 'Assets-Beyond-Means' cases, it is the accused who has to prove that he had the means to justify his assets.

2) Nawaz Sharif is already sentenced and in his recent appeal, he did not challenge any of the evidence (ownership of Even Field Apartments & Off-Shore companies).
