Uchali Lake
Salt Range
With Muhammad Asif Sherazi
In a winter's morning of 2013 , with sky covered with clouds , in a boat , we were moving towards that end of Uchlai Lake where flamingo use to feed .Coots were every where , Uchali Lake use to be home for thousands of migratory birds every winter. Weather got clear and we sighted these beautiful birds (Flamingos) at the far end of the lake . But their number was surprisingly & alarmingly decreased. Just a month back when i visited they were more than hundred and now their were just 3 of them.
Uchali Lake has ideal habitat for these magnificent and gorgeous birds but continuous hunting never let their population stable . Uchali Lake is such an ideal habitat for these birds that it can be home for thousands of flamingos .
Hunting by locals living around the lake is a very serious threat to every bird their.
When our wildlife department will awake and will do some thing to save our wildlife and when we common people will realize no to do massacre of our wildlife , either birds or animals.
you can count me in one of those, but is this bird halal.There are probably not many who would know of flamingoes’ existence in Pakistan.

@ghazi52
used to share these things a lot
ooh they're endangered, then i'll have to wait.Don't eat them yaar. Their numbers are dropping rapidly. Some things in life are there to be admired, not eaten.
There are probably not many who would know of flamingoes’ existence in Pakistan. We have two species in Pakistan and a small flock of nine Greater flamingoes was sighted at Khabekki Lake in April this year.
Purpose of hunting??ontinuous hunting never let their population stable
