Pakistan's first indigenous armed drone "BURAQ" kills 3 militants in Shawal: ISPR

The Good part is this reduces collateral damage to bare minimum and the bad part (more specifically for talidogs) is, now the stress management and blood pressure control meds price gonna sky rocket around their respective hideouts as when death is constantly hovering above your head and U got no place safer to hide then U are more likely gonna need these meds in abundance.

PS: Msg from Pakistani Nation to Talidogs " Wish U restless nights and painful days ahead till Ur extermination to logical end".

down side of using Jet fighters is that they have huge sound signature ... their presence can be heard from miles away... however using UCAV will really upset the stomachs of Talibitches... They will really fear the sky now....

Does this make Pakistan the first country besides the U.S to use drones? Or did Israel beat Pakistan to the punch?

I think it was first because we would have not kept this news secret when we declared the technology their was no purpose of keeping this news secret
Zarvan lets accept the fact that military would want to test this to the limit and only then they would have announced it....you are telling me we managed to bag 3 kills with first strike???
it has been used for a while and it was time to come out of the closet, not every drone strike could be blamed on US

Israel made a lot of UAVs (which india uses) and perhaps a UCAV too (not sure). But Pakistan is first , other than USA, to develop, fly test and use also. So now our system is battle-tested. The big achievement here is that both the UCAV and the missile Burq are indigenously developed.

Wait a minute..
The first test was in March 2015.
Why the first kill in September ?
Why was it not bring used straight away

Three killed in miltary's first drone strike in NWA
ISLAMABAD: At least three suspected militants were killed while a militant hideout was destroyed in Shawal valley of North Waziristan in the first ever air strike by a Pakistan made drone "Burraq".

The armed drone was used for the first time since its development in November 2013.

Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa announced the first ever use of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on his Twitter page adding that a terrorist compound was hit and three militants were killed in the air strike carried out by "Burraq"

This information, however, could not be independently verified as reporters have limited access to the restive agency.

Pakistan already has several types of unarmed surveillance drones in operation, but ‘Burraq’ and ‘Shahpar’ were the first surveillance drones to be developed locally.

‘Burraq’ was developed alongside ‘Shahpar’ in cooperation with the National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM), which is a civilian controlled Pakistani scientific research organisation.

Pakistan Army had tested ‘Burraq’ armed with laser-guided ‘Barq’ missile for the first time on March 14, 2015. Both Burraq drone and Barq missile, according to the army, have been indigenously developed.

The trials were witnessed by Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif who said it was a “great national achievement and momentous occasion”.

Pakistan had long aspired to have armed drones for bolstering its counter-terrorism capacity, but was only offered surveillance drones.

The efforts to indigenously develop drone capability were first reported in 2009.

Can anyone enlighten us that in case of Burraq or as a matter of fact any UCAV the ground target is lased by aircraft itself or from ground or both is possible?

PESHAWAR: Pakistan for the first time on Monday used an indigenous drone to attack a terrorist compound in restive North Waziristan, killing at least three high-profile militants.

"The first-ever use of Pakistan made Burraq drone today hit a terrorist compound in Shawal Valley killing three high profile terrorists," Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The remotely-piloted aircraft 'Burraq' and laser-guided missile 'Burq' were tested on March 14, taking Pakistan a step closer to acquiring the technology it has long demanded from the US.

The deeply forested ravines of Shawal Valley and Datta Khel are popular smuggling routes between Pakistan and neighbouring Afghanistan and are dotted with militant bases, media reported.

Plz recall previous statement of a military official(s) where they said that Burraq has turned a tide in Tirah Valley. So U know what they actually meant.

Drone war: ‘Burraq’ turned the tide in Tirah battle, say officials - The Express Tribune

And who knows they had been using these for quite a time before and just announced it this last March.

The radar, cameras and laser designator are all onboard the UCAV. A pilot sitting in the ground station is watching through video link and he locks the target by fixing the cursor and then presses the button and off goes the missile....Bang!!!! the indian terrorists are as dead as a log down there after agonising sleepless nights.
