wtf is going on?

That is exactly the first thing that crossed my mind LOL

We have a similar situation here in European countries. Inflation is supposedly killing and hurting so many ordinary people. All I see is ordinary people buying houses, cars and luxury items day in day out. Today, I visited a luxury shopping mall and there was hardly any space to walk around.

Nothing to be surprised about considering the present government has made it almost impossible to import quality Japanese cars
Rather forced us to rely on locally assembled tin cans so yeah the sale numbers are definitely gonna jack up in lieu of the import ban

How are poor people going to buy quality Japanese cars? Don't Pakistanis often complain about inflation etc.?

imports of imported cars were also surging real fast - they had to ban it asap due to CAD issues
We are going through CAD issues buddy- buying tins is the patriotic option till we improve our export numbers
and bring them $$$

. . . .
people are not buying car because they can , they are buying car as there is helplessness and no good transport system

even in islamabad there is none (except metro for rwp people. islamabad metro is not functionalized by PTI even though 90% of work is completed (just stops are not completed , roads are 100% completed)

if i want to go to blue area from G15, g14 , g111, g10, g9 , there is no transport ....

I am thinking about buying a new car too. I have been using Honda Accord 2004 for years and was thinking about changing but there weren't many options available previously(3 Japanese teen dabbas) but now there are quite a few options available(South Korea, Chinese, Malaysian). That's one factor.

Second factor is, due to pandemic, I avoided having vacation abroad for last 2+1 years

Third factor, I loved eating out atleast twice a week. But for last 2 years, I have only eaten out just once. So, more savings.

As for inflation, yes, it is there. Everything is expensive now. And it hurts everyone. And just so happens, it hurts working class the most.

What you are looking at is upper middle class and upper class buying cars.

just few days ago got new yaris . these days trying to avoid hitting foot paths as its too low . :p:

Both wife and I drive Toyota Yaris here--2008 and 2009 models respectively. Our cars have close to 100,000 miles each. We only do battery changes and oil changes. On highways, I have recorded 42.5 miles per gallon (the American gallon) while in city traffic it is 33-35 mpg. Superb vehicles! Can even put a bale of hay (for grass seeds cover) because they are hatchbacks. They are 1500 CC engines and on hills they slow down climbing, causing angry vehicles behind on single-lane roads. But they are definitely NOT low-sitting vehicles; they actually feel raised. Well, in rural America they are tiny because everyone seems to ride trucks and SUVs. LOL!

Yaris and low? Bhai zayda nahi ho gaya? If one thing Pakistani Yaris is actually two high, at point of being ridiculous than the original variant because of the local conditions.
And a sedan is meant to be driven on roads and not footpaths. Footpaths ka lia koi dalla walla lain app.
