I don't wanna state the obvious. The PAF's Saab Erieye seems like a great a/c, but a buddy of mine whom I met during the Dubai AirShow flies it for the PAF, pointed at the Turkish B737 AEW&C (Wedgetail) as his dream plane. Can't blame him. I got a tour of both a/c's while I was there (-courtesy of him - ofcourse).
The 737 AEW&C is a bit different from the regular 737-NG's. The airframe is of a regular B737-700, however the wings are longer & are the ones from the -800 (without the winglets).
Lets not forget the cost $150 million to $190 million per unit. I don't think we're gonna be getting one of these anytime soon.
