Pakistan's ad in Wall Street Journal on 9/11

Pak-ad.jpg

The ad is like-

Aa bail mujhay or mar-
What a joke of an advertisement-

.
You know I dont know why pakistani govt had to do this. Well actually I do. Its that snivling theif zardari who stole from our country and has got ober a billion of his US dollars tied up in american estate. If he dared to say anything against american interests they would nick his stolen money. It was a sad anniversary for the americans but it is not for our snivelling govt to try this kind of thing. Its not like the americans will appreciate it. anyway its vulgar

.
It will take a LOT more than just a WSJ advert to impact US policy.

F@ck USA policy.

Why are we giving hardships?

The Army and the government must stop humiliating it's people and must act according to the will ofthe PEOPLE Of PAKISTAN.

.
Lets just say there's better ways of getting ones message through....

This ad definitely aint one of them...

The ad wreaks of desperation....The GOP or ISI propoganda wing should have at least hired a legit US based agency with better placement techniques....

This looks like the work of a PDF fanboy...tsk tsk.

An important message being made a joke of because GOP decided to cut some corners....and lets not even start about the flighting of this message

. .
WTF !!!

Why should the world's 7 billion be grateful to a country that is only cleaning its OWN mess. ?

I am honestly amazed at the lengths to which the Pakistanis play the victim hood card.

Holocaust didn't happen :D-

.
I think it's a decent ad, quite informative, hopefully it wakes people up to Pakistan's sacrifice. If people are upset over it, then that's too bad let them suffer. If some Americans get offended then good who cares about their feelings? People get offended all the time. The Pakistani ad contains only facts, not opinions, but facts and statistics of Pakistan's sacrifice.

Best time to remind those people on the 10th anniversary, they think their pulling weight alone.

The only bad thing about the ad is B.Bhutto is on it, completely out of place.

The mess started in AFG, this is not ancient history here you should be able to remember that. The "mess" started in AFG, and after US-NATO invasion and years of operation spilled over into NWFP, Pakistan.

The ad was in poor taste..instead of paying respects to the victims, Pakistani gov played their usual victim hood card...

And instead of paying respects to the 30,000 killed in terrorist related violence in Pakistan, the US government and media smeared Pakistan with the same old propaganda ...

On topic, aren't all these 'flak' articles sourced to the PTI, and do they refer to anything other than comments on a assinine anti-Pakistan blog crawling with anti-Pakistan commentators, i.e the LWJ/Threat Matrix?

Huh???

Isnt the intended effect of this ad to have an impact on the American people to create a positive perception of Pakistan...?

I fail to see how the stats help Pakistani cause unless endorsed by an American politician with significant clout that would vouch for the stats on this ad....until then, it will remain an act of Pakistani propoganda aimed at squeezing the extra dollar from the Americans...at least in the American view

They are...

Pakistanis are fighting in Pakistan to save their own country...
Americans with NATO fight in Afghanistan

Maybe thats the way to best gain the attention of the Americans.....Blame everything on them

It is Pakistan which chose to display this ad at the most untimely of seasons in the US....

What do you intend the purpose was?
Besides...there's better way of honoring the men and women who have given their lives for Pakistan in this war....and seeking approval from the Americans is probably the least favorable method to do so....

I wonder what internal PR initiatives have been taken up in Pakistan to educate the Pakistani population regarding this....Ill bet you none...

I never understand why Pakistanis give heed to troll-bait threads.

So a bunch of Pakistan haters rant on a blog. And the news is....?

I did not know I was a jooo :P

I did not know Zia Ul Haq who went to bed with US in Afghanistan was an Afghan.

Karma is a bi@tch.

And it is the US that pays no heed to occasion or time while smearing Pakistan and ignoring its many magnitudes more casualties ..

What do you intend the purpose was?
Besides...there's better way of honoring the men and women who have given their lives for Pakistan in this war....and seeking approval from the Americans is probably the least favorable method to do so....

The intent was not to 'honor Pakistanis killed in terrorism through seeking US approval', but to try and argue Pakistan's case in the US in the face of fierce US Establishment and media propaganda against Pakistan.
I wonder what internal PR initiatives have been taken up in Pakistan to educate the Pakistani population regarding this....Ill bet you none...
You mean the constant statements, articles and TV shows 'condemning terrorism', honoring martyred soldiers etc. are nothing compared to a 'half page advert for one day on page 10 of a newspaper'?

Many of those 'initiatives' have been discussed in this forum - perhaps you should peek out of that hole of 'anti-Pakistaniat' you have stuck your head in to realize this ...

Problem is Americans treat 9/11 with a reverence that is religious. Putting the add in at this time is about as sensitive as sitting on the steps of a Mosque during Ramadan eating a pork sandwich.

Yes Pakistan has lost a great deal but you dont go to a persons funeral as they are burying their brother and tell them yes but i lost two brothers, its not the time they want to hear it.

And seriously who did they hire to do it, there are half a dozen people here on PDF that could have come up with some thing better
