The delays in U-214 would mean that we might be able to Join the Germans to gain some last moments knowledge, I think the GoP should give PN $100 million to join in the project although it won't be a big share but we would be able to gain the production of it on the same price as it will be produced along with some profits on sale of it.

Apart from China, I do not currently see any other country interested / willing in delivering or helping to deliver new submarines to PN. Not Germany, not France, not Sweden, not Russia (and that pretty much covers the commercial producers of subs, since Japan does not export subs and South Korea only used Type 209s). I doubt hinese subs would be better than U214. Howver, as with F22P, it is not just the quality of the platform but also price (i.e. numers that can be afforded). A sufficient number of AIP equiped Chinese subs could also be used as initial sea based launch platform for Babur, giving PN a capability similar to that German-built Dolphon class subs offer Israel. I think SSN (whether purchasing or building) would be prohibitively expensive fo PN and will not take place.

I guess PN shold make a setup to start building their own SSN's even though they will be very expensive.In order to be free we gotta pay its price. It does matter even we can afford it or not....

Not 100% right. They are getting away just because of the fact that PN has no money to pay. Once we are able to arrange money then they will be willing to give us. One worst thing which every one has pointed out was that PN has made a biggest mistake in recent times i.e not building the Agosta-90Bs in the right numbers. As we have managed to make it lethal with French help MESMA AIP and other weapons modifications. Instead of three we should have tried to build 7 in total, like instead of assembling the 2nd sub at home we should have gone for 2nd and 3rd one and later 4th and 5th one being produced with AIP and then 6th and 7th one with AIP too. Later on refitting the older three subs with AIPs and more over Upgrading the Agosta 70s in 2000 with available latest systems from EU so that it can be helpful till 2015.

I think they should look towards JV with Germans along with Turkish partners on new SSKs.

We are now operating our two Type 214 at 100%. They are really the most sophisticated weapon in the Portuguese Armed Forces. It’s a mean machine!!! The first of them NRP Tridente as already made a 2 month trip to the US Navy for exercises, the results are top secret but we now that the objective was to try to approach and destroy an US Aircraft Carrier and Escort. As always!! The men who operate them are so well trained that the Germans made their bags and went to Portugal to test the edge of these machines and new technologies here. It’s a peaty you couldn’t get them, operating with F16AM, P3C and Missile Frigates (like us), this team is very dangerous!

That's what we were suggesting for the Navy that they should have started a JV with Germans at least on the U-214 side and also looked towards developing a 3rd Shipyard at KE&SWs along with the upgradation of the whole facility and also making a Marine research lab with help from German experts! So that we may be able to manufacture 7 U-214P and then 7 U-216P as well along with may be increasing the number of Agosta-90Bs to 7 as well.
