Thousands of worshippers in Pakistan's Jhang city pay tribute to 50 victims of New Zealand's double mosque attack.

Thousands of Pakistanis clad in white have gathered in the central city of Jhang to make a human image of New Zealand's Al Noor mosque in Christchurch city, where 50 people were killed by a white supremacist four weeks ago.

Drone images showed worshippers standing in formation on Friday, their snow-white traditional shalwar kameez and prayer caps in stark contrast to the emerald green of a public field, as a second group formed the words "Islam is peace" nearby.

Huge New Zealand and Pakistani flags were also displayed along with a giant banner which read: "Solidarity with the martyrs of Christchurch from Pakistan".

The tribute was organised by the Muslim Institute, a non-government organisation aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Muslim world, which also released the drone footage.

Brenton Tarrant, a 28-year-old Australian and self-avowed white supremacist, has been charged with 50 counts of murder and 39 of attempted murder after opening fire at the Linwood and Al Noor mosques on March 15.

Pakistani victims

Nine of the victims were of Pakistani origin. One, Naeem Rashid, was posthumously given an award for bravery by Pakistan after he apparently tried to tackle the gunman before being shot.

Tribute organisers praised the New Zealand government after what had been a "very tough time" for Muslims in the country - especially Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Her response "not only soothed the wounds of Muslims but also assured them that Muslims in their country are safe", said Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali, a religious scholar and one of the organisers.

"We worked really hard to make this model," one participant, Noor Hassan, said of the tribute. "It was so pleasant that we were ready to stand like this for the whole day."

I hope they express similar solidarity with their dying countrymen. We don't even express our grief for people dying in our own backyard but go all sentimental ummah style over events in a far away land.. no wonder we are in such a mess.

I think the member wasn't instigating sectarianism but merely pointing out yesterday's big tragedy where Hazara Community was the main target. And how Pakistanis have remained tight lipped but here they're making human flags and what not to send a message to the west?

Please read the statement. The Hazara community is selectively targeted over the years. And merely pointing that out doesn't make one guilty of sectarianism. Unlike others, theyre purely targeted for the sake of fueling sectarian divide.

Oh Bhai.... Allah ko yaad karo.... my purpose is simple... why do we go all berserk for happenings across the globe and not express similar feelings for our country men....

Sectarian issue..... Wow! yesterday's attack was against a particular community... can I not take their name?

Sir! hold your horses a bit! My point is simple, perhaps in better words, we love to take high moral ground when it is to highlight the bad happenings in west or India, but the atrocities happening in our midst go unnoticed! Pakistan has seen many attacks against mosques, I have never seen such display!

I wanted to highlight this hypocrisy!

Now specifically to your "great gestor(gesture) of peace" , do we do the same for others as well. Strange that the people of jhang felt the pain of Muslims in another continent bypassing the pain and suffering of our countrymen.

Look Pakistanis these sectarian religious or political divides, what they do? ? they divide a nation or a society from within into multiple groups & segments, You can call it, cracks appearing in a strong metal, it takes time but eventually breaks the country from inside.

Nations become their own enemies, when they resort to divisions based on sectarian, religious, political or other grounds. So Always remember Unity is strength, Division is weakness.

And ALLAH says in Quran

وَاعۡتَصِمُوۡا بِحَبۡلِ اللّٰهِ جَمِيۡعًا وَّلَا تَفَرَّقُوۡا‌

Look What enemy is doing, you can see since decades in Karachi particularly, & other parts of the country, the enemy has killed multiple dozens/scores of Sunni Ulama as well as Shia Ulama both, and other innocent people of all sects, recently there was an attack on Mufti Taqi Usmani in Karachi, he barely escaped.

What enemy does, he target one sect, and after some time, targets another sect, to create, to increase the sectarian hatred between multiple sects, the sectarian or religious hatred is such a lethal force that it can turn your streets & bazars into a fireball or an IED field killing people at will.

Don't play in the hands of the enemy, beware, be smart.
BE SMART.

Understand the enemy. The force that is killing Sunnis or Shias or Punjabis, or Balochis or Sindhis or Muhajirs, or Pakhtoons, is ONE & united, and wants us to be divided into a crowd of multiple segments, groups hating each other.

Look why we want Modi in power, cuz we know, he has created multiple divides within Indian society by using his extremist ideologies, and slowly but surely he will divide Indian state into multiple segments.

The muslims, the christians, the sikhs of India, all of them are increasingly getting wary of Hindutva extremist regime, which is getting powerful as time passes, and not much time will pass, the Indian state will be having serious implications, who knows more Pakistans within India territory in making, along with the Khalistan.

The naked truth is that Iran and the Gulf states are funding sectarianism in Pakistan for decades. The roots have become deep and it will take at least a decade to stop this
