yes its definitely careless of the passenger to leave such a valuable possessions on board the cab but at the end of the day -- his carelessness was 'pardoned' thanks to Mr. Khan

hopefully Mr. Khan would be rewarded in the future 10 times this amount, for his deed. But for now, I think just knowing that he did the right thing --he is at total peace inside and for some people that's all that matters

A Pakistani taxi driver Rameen Khan has become a celebrity and role model for others in the United Arab Emirates for his honesty. According to details, Rameen Khan, who returned a bag containing 9.5-kg of gold bars and 40,000 dollars cash to a Chinese passenger in March this year in Dubai.

The ruler of Dubai Emirate and UAE Prime Minister UAE Shaikh Mohammed presented the Pakistani taxi driver Rameen Khan a sum of Dirhams 50,000 in recognition of his honesty. He also praised the taxi driver for his honesty.


The Pakistan Consul General in Dubai, Abdul Hameed, appreciated taxi driver Rameen Khan at a function honouring him for his good deed The Consul General on the occasion said: "I congratulate him on behalf of the Government of Pakistan and as a representative of the Pakistan community in the UAE. He also announced that Rameen Khan was being recommended for inclusion of his name by the Pakistan Government in the outstanding Pakistani achievers award next years
