'If Pakistan Can Take Up Gujarat Riots, Surely India Can Raise The Balochistan Issue'

www.outlookindia.com | 'If Pakistan Can Take Up Gujarat Riots, Surely India Can Raise The Balochistan Issue'

Now Asma Jehangir is nothing but a traitor, right?

Oh care to explain when was the last time any Pakistani State Minister said that we will take up Gujrat issue with Indian Government at Official level?

And BTW comparing Killings of inncoent Muslims in Gujrat by Hindu fundamentalists with BLA terrorists' activities in Balochistan in itself an insane thinking.

Asma Jehngir is known for supporting India and terrorists from Hindu militant orgnaisation Shiv Sena.
So come up with some neutral comparison.

I didnot bring up the low caste issue in this thread. Did I?

Once you are introduced to reality this is how you run away. Time and again this is proved on the forum. Especially against your deliberate propaganda against India.

GB

Bwahhh i am not runing away like Indians who come with multipal IDs.

And it was your Indian member who was saying all the Hindus and Sikhs better go to India whereas the fact is that your own Hindus are not safe from the attrocities being committed against them by militants organisations like VHP, RSS, and Shiv Sena.

Read my post again and then speak up emotionaly. Pakistan had never raised issue of Indian Muslims at OFFICIAL LEVEL with Indian Government as its your Internal matter.

The Indian citizens can criticise human rights violations in Pakistan similarly as we can criticise Human Rights violations in India.

BUT an INDIAN Minister saying Indian will raise the issue of Pakistani citizens with Pakistani Govt :undecided: wow give me a break man.

Its like making fool of one's ownself.

Rest of your rant is not even worth replying.

cheers :coffee:

That not entirely accurate. I remember Gen.Musharraf mentioning the Gujarat riots in the U.N. General assembly and talking about Indian Muslims.

Convenient memory or selective amnesia ?

Here's a link to Musharraf's comments.

Musharraf’s diatribe at UN : Vajpayee hits back September 16, 2002

When Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf made highly provocative anti-India remarks in his address at the United Nations, Prime Minister Vajpayee, when his turn came, could not resist reacting in a similar language, questioning his country’s role as a partner in the global coalition against terrorism because of the alibis he was offering to terrorists and absolving them of the responsibility for their heinous crimes such as the Dec. 13 attack on the Indian Parliament last year. Both the leaders had separate meetings with President Bush who in his talks with Vajpayee condemned the killing of election candidates in Kashmir and dismissed the distinction between terrorism and “freedom struggle” to justify acts of violence. In his separate talks with External Affairs Minister, Yashwant Sinha, US Secretary of State Colin Powell promised to continue to press Pakistan to do everything possible to stop cross border infiltration. Unlike Vajpayee, however, Musharraf made a media splash, giving interviews to newspapers and TV channels and addressing Harvard University teachers and students and meeting world leaders to cast India in the role of a villain in the Indo-Pak standoff over Kashmir and projecting himself as a committed partner in the global fight against terrorism.

Half of Musharraf’s 30-minute speech was devoted to attack India. The Pak General also ranted at length on what he described as a massive military build up by India and said the region was hostage to one act of terrorism or miscalculation that could lead to war.

The opportunity to address the special session of the UN General Assembly on Sept. 12 provided Gen. Musharraf a perfect opportunity to showcase his indubitable histrionic talents before the world audience. He echoed the description of some commentators about South Asia being the “most dangerous place on earth” and then went on to present himself as the very embodiment of restraint and responsibility. He painted the Kashmiris as having waged a struggle “for decades against India” while conveniently omitting the fact that it was the pro-active role Pakistan played in the region from the late 80s onwards that has taken such a heavy toll on human lives in the State. Then he dwelt on the Gujarat riots while failing to point out how they invited the sharpest condemnation from Indians and Indian democratic institutions themselves. He talked of Pakistan ushering in a “sustainable democracy” that actually appears to boil down to “sustainable Musharrafacy” with the General having eliminated every serious contender in the fray through some extremely ingenious ploys.

The events in Gujarat were the stick Musharraf used to beat India with. He referred to the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat with the “complicity of BJP leaders” in the State to ask the international community to combat the rising religious fundamentalism in India with the same vigour as it was done elsewhere. He called on the international community to hold accountable those responsible for the murder of two thousand Muslims in Gujarat. This was the first time UN oldtimers recalled a Pakistani leader using the UN forum to refer to domestic events in India, indeed to single out a political party and its ideology.

By all means, please do raise the issue of combating the Taliban and their 'ideology' in the UN - since it is something Pakistan has committed to anyway, and points out at almost every international forum.

Post his statment with links where he ever Said Pakistan will discuss Gujrat riots with India at OFFICIAL Level in the meeting between Indo-Pak Officials.

Bang Galore has already burst your bubble above.

Who needs state minister when we can give example of President himself.

I am busy celebrating Tendulkar's 200 so excuse me now.

'If Pakistan Can Take Up Gujarat Riots, Surely India Can Raise The Balochistan Issue'
I don't recall the last time 2000 Baluch were massacred by, say, a Punjabi or Pashtun mob. Nor do I recall the last time a few thousand Baluch non-combatants were massacred by the PA.

Certainly Baluchistan has seen nothing like the Indian police action that resulted in thousands of Sikhs killed, and possibly tens of thousands tortured and missing. And definitely nothing like the Golden Temple assault.

The Learned Indians do not know the differene between criticisng human rights violations and taking up interanl matters of a country at official level meetings with the said country

The Indian ministers need to be taught some legal matters viz a viz International rules in this regards

Post his statment with links where he ever Said Pakistan will discuss Gujrat riots with India at OFFICIAL Level in the meeting between Indo-Pak Officials.

Please come up with better excuses now or simply withdraw.

Our PM is Sikh. The ordinary SIKH is in India is putting pressure on him and his party.

Yesterday there were demonstrations by sikh's in Delhi.

Besides the minister has just spoken. Talk when the issue is actually raised in the meetings.

Were there any demonstrations by Muslims in India against the tens of thousands of Pakistani Muslims killed, tortured, beheaded by the Taliban?

Or is the life of a Pakistan Muslim not equivalent to that of a Pakistani Sikh or Pakistani Hindu?

The Indian minsiter has just spoken  Why he spoke which is not legal in the first place.

How come an Indian Minister can vow to take up issue of Pakistani Citizens for talks with Pakistan???????

Besides Your Indian ministers needs some training classes to speak to Media because on the first day of the incident Your Bhartyia minister said "We are informed that three Indian citizens have been abducted by Taliban. One has been done away with and two are still in their custody"
:rofl: Tell your minister that they are Pakistani citizens not Bhartyias.

Ahh sorry your SIKH PM did not get the pressure when SIKHS were prortesting against free roaming of Killers of 5000 Indian Sikhs.

Your Govt better arrest the killers of 5000 Indian Sikhs instead of poking their nose into Pakistani affairs.

if you still do not understand the difference then stop ranting here

The muslims of India were divided over Taliban issue.

While some supported them some criticized them.

I can post a local auto in Mumbai who has a sticker of Osama and his name written in Arabic while many educated muslims protested against the Taliban.

Same way many muslims protested while Ariel Sharon visited India and while Gulf War episode - 2.

Many muslim restaurant owners even banned US products at their restaurants.

In India any one and everyone is free to protest.

The Indian minsiter has just spoken  Why he spoke which is not legal in the first place.

Many Pakistani ministers denied the role of Pakistan in 26/11 at the beginning. Later they changed their tone.

Which version is legal here?

The same way Pakistan talks about Kashmir.
:rofl: Tell your minister that they are Pakistani citizens not Bhartyias.

Tell that to Iran who protest after every secretarian killings of Shia's in Pakistan. Even those Shia's are Pakistani's but Iran protests.

The SGPC (Vatican of Sikh's) is in India. They are presurizing the Indian Government headed by a Sikh himself. Government has no choice but to bring up the issue.

Ahh sorry your SIKH PM did not get the pressure when SIKHS were prortesting against free roaming of Killers of 5000 Indian Sikhs.

They are from his party. Arrest warrant has been issued against Sajjan Kumar. Many others are convicted already.
Your Govt better arrest the killers of 5000 Indian Sikhs instead of poking their nose into Pakistani affairs.

Tell that to Manmohan Singh.

My point is that if India wishes to raise the issues of atrocities in Pakistan, should it not be raising the issue from the perspective of the Taliban overall, and pointing to the tens of thousands butchered and affected by their actions, instead of focusing on a Sikh killed and a few hundred Sikhs affected?

Is the whole premise of India not that it is a 'secular country', and therefore should focus on the larger tragedy instead of isolated incidents on the basis of religion?

Do Indians realize how many Muslim families have had to move out of areas where the Taliban have been active?

And if India does wish to raise the issue of the Taliban, what exactly is it going to say:

GoI: These atrocities are condemnable.

GoP: We agree

GoI: Strong action should be taken against the culprits

GoP: We agree, we are, since last year starting with the Swat Ops.

I mean, what exactly would the GoI say in this case that the GoP has not itself committed to already and is acting to implement?

That was an issue which involved attacks in India. And India blamed Pakistan for that hence in that issue statments from our officials on attacks in India were understandable wehther those statments were wrong or right thats another matter.

Again the point is Pakistani Govt never issued a silly statment vowing to take up the human rights violation of Muslims in India with Indian government at official meeting.

The same way Pakistan talks about Kashmir.

Your argument the weakest here as Kashmir is a bilateral/international conflict/issue and Pakistan, India are party to it. Unlike killing of Pakistani citizens at the hands of other Pakistani citizens which our Internal matter and India has not right to take up with us for talks.

Tell that to Iran who protest after every secretarian killings of Shia's in Pakistan. Even those Shia's are Pakistani's but Iran protests.

Again you are not using your head. India can criticise the issue as much as Iran criticise the killing of Pakistani shias but still Iran doesnt have right to take up issue of Pakistani citizens for official talks with us.

The SGPC (Vatican of Sikh's) is in India. They are presurizing the Indian Government headed by a Sikh himself. Government has no choice but to bring up the issue.

And your government is taking political advantage by meddling into Pakistani affairs. Your govt should have some guts to tell SGPC that it was non of Indain Govt business.

They are from his party. Arrest warrant has been issued against Sajjan Kumar. Many others are convicted already.

Great achievment atleast after over 25 years Sikhs got some arrest warrant issued against one killer.

Tell that to Manmohan Singh.

Prime Minister's Office

He is Your PM not mine. You should tell him instead of supporting wrong notion by an Indian minister
