Pakistani Patton M48 Tank meets a Leopard

Patton was not superior to some of the French/British tanks you fielded. And wars are not decided by number of tanks lost. A attacking force can often lose more tanks against a embeded force. More to the point is given India was vastly larger country then Pakistan you should have either oblitered Pakistan from the map by Indian armies entering Islamabad or at least captured Azad Kashmir. That way we might have had peace in South Asia by now.

He is a Urdu speaking Pakistani. How can he win Indian medals?

The way the Indians spin everything about the 1965 war that it was a victory is just utter nonsense in the end if you look from.a nuanced perspective it was stalemate Pakistan won the battle but diplomatically India won as usual

*To be fair to all the Pakistanis and Indians no one outside of South Asia cares about the wars you fought both Pakistan and India have been pussyfooting for the last 70 years and will continue hence everyone see both as a clown show

Seriously, is data / internet that expensive in Pakistan ? You guys won't look up anything or click on any link before commenting ? WOW !

Show us one google map pics which displays even 20 tanks lined up together.

There are literally pages of pictures if you google it. Be my guest. Here is just one.

but to a naked eye, the jeep looks the victim than a victor.

Yes, brilliant deduction ! CQMH Hamid died , but destryed 9 tanks before dying. On sept. 9th and 10th, 1965.

This comment is beyond asinine. I wish you a very good afternoon and hope you get well soon !!

won the battle
Disagree.

  • Pakistan lost the battle on the Jammu Kashmir front
  • India lost on the Lahore, Punjab front

Result was stalemate because war decided nothing. Score was 1:1

Aww the 'graveyard of Pakistani tanks'. Pity you could not have some 'fantastic tea' in Lahore gymkhana.

' But. but, how can Indians be Muslim and speak Urdu ? It's not like its a language from Lucknow - Delhi belt ? '

By the way it was total, I mean total failure of Pakistan arms, officers, soldiers, NCO's, tank troops and nothing short of cowardice that we failed to capture Jammu. A distance of 30 miles from Pakistan lines. If you could have borrowed one German Army Panzer Brigade of 3000 men with 50 tanks I reckon they could have done it all alone. As long as we don't accept, sober up and learn we will never get out of this self inflicted delusion. The only saving grace is India fcuked up as bad as we did. Thus the result speaks loud. They failed to grab 'Azad Kashmir' and we failed to grab 'IOK' and 72 years later here we are.

Maybe people in Pakistan have better things to do other than pay attention to a propagandist neighbour who is noteven ashamed to paint own wreckage in Pakistani colours.....so India managed to salvage or drag in wrecked tanks from all over and lined them up for that kodak moment.
At least Pakistan didn't have such issue with perfectly working Indian guns that were deserted by Indian soldiers.

Before habitually making tall claims, you creatures need to get your figures correct.

''Although battalion and regimental accounts claim seven tanks, it is unclear if the seventh tank was destroyed by Hamid. The citation notes only the two Pakistani tanks known to be destroyed by Hamid on 10 September, after he had destroyed four other tanks the day before; he was killed while fighting the seventh. News of Hamid's death was sent to Army HQ in New Delhi and the award became posthumous, but the authorities failed to credit him with the four tanks destroyed on 9 September.''

And you keep replying to me !?! Clearly you have NOTHING better to do :yahoo:

You are reminding me of the days I played with my child when he was a few months old.

I first watched Battle of Bulge, a war movie back in I think late 1970s. It covers the last days of the war when German was almost defeated. The Russians were approaching Berlin with nothing to stop them but rag tag broken German soldiers many with young kids in uniform. On the west massed British and American armies prepared to roll forward into the North German plains. German was like a wounded animal, gasping and waiting for death with most of the blood drained out. But in one final act of desperate survival they launched a attack on the frontlines that formed a bulge near Ardenne forests in a ambitious if not foolhardy attempt to cut of the Allied armies from the English Channel.

With 3-4 days leading German Panzers were 30 miles beyond Allied lines. If Pakistan could have replicated this Jammu, Akhnur would be captured and Kashmir would have fallen into Pakistan's hands like a plum mango. But alas. 30 miles too much !

This is how armies should fight or not fight a all. Along the way some of the SS troops murdered some American soldiers in what came to be known as Malmedy massacre. After the war the officers and soldiers of the Battle group involved including from General officers all the way down to soldiers faced court martial. I came across a unredacted recording of it on youtube with the SS troops facing the court hearing. Go to 43:00 and see their reaction as one by one the face the music. After watching that I thought no wonder the German armies wreaked havoc and cut across enemy lines like bolt of lightening.

Interstingly the 1965 war saw much of the same equipment and tactics used in the Battle of Bulge. Indeed I suspect many of the Americans who trained Pak Army in 1960s were probably WW2 vets.

@OsmanAli98 watch this and look at the attitide of the Germans when they know most likely they will be hanging on a American noose by end of the day. This includes general who commaned armies that had terrified Europe only few months before. Also notice the fitness of these men, many of whom are in 40/50s. No biriani tummies here !

How can you replicate such an attack whereas soviet union amassed his industrial capabilities during the war with every men, women, farms and factory working as war machine Pakistan was dependent on ammunition from so called western allies including spares for their jets, tanks etc ..

I was talking of Germans not Soviets. But leaving that asides the critical point I brought up was 3 days into the attack by Germans on the bulge they had penetrated 30 miles into American lines. One battle group led by Peiper [who you see at 48:00] managed 45 miles. So your saying the PA attacking force did not have enough ammunition for 7 days? If so why fcukin even go to battle. Just stay at home with the kids.

Once PA failed to capture Akhnur and India attacked Lahore the initiative was lost and now it was going to be a long drawn out war. Only then did the issue of spare parts became a issue. If Peiper and his SS troopers had been unleashed on Akhunr they would have captured it by 4th day. Before the amunition ran out !
