What's new

Pakistani official called a senior US diplomat a “little pygmy” on Twitter

.
Shireen Mazari is a bit eccentric, she can be a bit like a bull in a China shop...but she has said in two words what no PPP or NOONIES would dream of saying for fear of their dollars being stopped.

Self Respect is what commands outside respect and this administration has it in bucket loads

LOL Beautiful. We understand why the Yanks were so irked with radical politicsal change in Pakistan. This is exactly what they don't like. Opposition to their dictation. When nations speak up for their own interests the Yanks become very irrational.

Well, we couldn't give a hoot. This is why Pakistanis voted for PTI. A new Pakistan that shows a massive middle finger to the enemies.

This response came in relation to Imran Khan's recent 'interim government' remark. This is our fault.

another one
Sometimes its is necessary to respond in the same language which other side understand .... so plz understand they are not 'Gentlemen' and do not deserve the gentlemen treatment
That was a pathetic statement from Donald Trump, and PTI-led government gave him a befitting response afterwards. This matter was settled and US and Pakistan were on the track of normalizing their relations but...

We need to see where our leadership is wrong, this is my point.

Tit-for-tat exchanges brought DPRK and US to the brink of nuclear war back in 2017. This is not good diplomacy at all.

Chest-thumping sound goods on forums (brief euphoria moments) but it does not work in practical walks of life. Pick fights with people at every turn and you are bound to get hurt.

Sir,

Quite frankly, while the Afghans may not like it, an interim government is probably the only way to advance the peace talks with the Taliban and get over the one major stumbling block - the refusal of the Taliban to accept or talk to the Ghani government. The idea of an interim government is probably something being discussed in US circles as well. Additionally, the GOP issued a clarification on IK’s comments after the Afghan protest, so there was absolutely no need for John Bass to jump into the fray as he did and make things worse.
Thanks for the update, bro.

Well, GOP should not make its suggestions public in this regard. India is already looking for excuses to malign Pakistan along with a proportion of Afghans. Low-profile approach is better.

It is not 'our fault'. USA begged us to bring Taliban on the table and we have every right to voice our concerns at quarters not wanting negotiations with Taliban.

And it was the Afghan government who cried over the scheduled meeting of Taliban with IK. IK's comment came after that and rightly so.

This I understand, but why highlight these matters on Tweeter? These talks are supposed to be low-profile. Both US and Taliban are not telling much.

Look at the slack Donald Trump has taken for his tweeting habits. I won't be surprised if he loose in another elections due to this factor alone.

And Ghani delving into Pakistan’s domestic affairs with his statements about the PTM is what?
Ghani should have been slapped back then.
We have every right to talk about what is happening in our neighborhood ... Why people like you are in panic???
Why would i panic, other then the fact that during last 4 decades our every move in Afghanista ended as disaster for us.
Refrain from being an .. & bending over for some american dip-shyt.

And if you are so concerned, ask ghani to stop interfering in Pakistans domestic affairs. PTM issue is a hint.
IK said the right thing, we hold more stakes in Afghanistan than anyone else, even more than the mayors of Kabul. We have suffered because of Afghanistan and its conflicts more than anyone else. Afghanistan needs to have interim government ....... and not some puppets at this moment ........ this perfectly makes sense for a faster resolution.

What Shireen Mizari did is also right ......... idiots around the world should stop clubbing together of Pakistan with Afghanistan. No more special envoys for Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan's premier doesn't need to be dictated by an ambassador anymore ....especially when your ex-wife may have escorted Pakistani premier in the past. Simple ... and perfect response to show someone where they sit according to new seating arrangements.
He said nothing wrong.
A Political Jalsa is last place from where anyone should comment on geostrategic affairs.Rest assured i have my opinion and you have your own.

Bhai what do you think this idea was propagated by IK .... ???
plz visit few links posted below
- Keep in mind this idea have its basic outline in one of the RAND corporation 2014 report (click here) which is generally discussing the Afghan issue and it predates the leaked document named Afghan Peace Proposal (click here: 1,2) which is also prepared by the same Rand corporation.

Excerpt from the news article from Afghan media Tolo news (link)
According to the document, the new political arrangements within Afghanistan will include adoption of a new constitution within the 18-month transitional period. The transitional government to be led by a rotating chairman and several vice chairmen, the document suggests.

- Taliban to Meet Afghan Politicians (but Not Ghani) in Moscow (link)
- ‘Don’t want interim government in Afghanistan,’ India tells US (link)
- Taliban, Afghan opposition hold Moscow talks without government (link)

America, Russsia, India and many other countries were discussing the same issue in one way or the other is not the violation of Sovereignty of Afghanistan but a mere statement by the PM of Pakistan which is just stating a political reality of Afghanistan is being considered interference in internal matter of Afghanistan does it appear sensible to you ....???

You know the ironies of the situation

- This hypocritical comment is made by the US ambassador in Afghanistan who is representing a foreign occupying force in Afghanistan.

- Previously discussing the political settlement of Afghanistan by many foreign countries in many foreign destinations were allowed even when none were the neighbour Afghanistan and these efforts were not considered as interference in internal matters of Afghanistan but a round of negotiation in Pakistan was made cancelled forcefully by not allowing the Afghan Talibnan delegation to visit Pakistan

- Asking the help of Pakistan for the initiation of peace dialogue with Taliban was not interference in internal matter of Afghanistan by USA

- And when Pakistan acknowledge the US request and played its role to bring Afghan Taliban on negotiation table was not considered an act of interference but a mere statement by the PM of Pakistan stating a logical step forward which was in fact originally suggested by US itself is now being termed by US as an act of interference in internal matter of Afghanistan by Pakistan

- If we go by the classic definition of sovereignty of an state the presence and involvement of US in Afghanistan is an act of violation of sovereignty and interference in the internal matters of of Afghanistan so any US official should be the last person to comment about IK statement

Afganistan is 60% a province of Pakistan, anyways.

We were there and we gave that area on silver platter to our enemies for bleeding us.

This is rubbish. Kim Jong-Un wrote a letter to Donald Trump to commence talks, and the latter obliged. Diplomacy does not work with name-calling.

I believe that Imran Khan's remark in relation to setting up an interim government in Afghanistan, crossed a line. American ambassador to Afghanistan reminded Imran Khan this, and now Shireen Mizari jumped in with her insulting remarks. Afghanistan has recalled its ambassador in protest. In which direction this 'circus of kneejerk reactions' is heading? Is PTI-led administration trying to antagonize US or something?

The North Koreans have been asking for direct head to head talks for years. Clinton, Bush, Obama, all refused them. Trump's ego led him to believe he could solve the problem, which it didn't. NK is not in great shape, but they've reestablished relationships with SK and gotten a major military exercise stopped while Trump has gotten nothing in return. Un got Trump's attention by calling him a dotard, that was a challenge he couldn't refuse.

Can't help but notice that Pakistan has navigated away from the US axis with the stronger relationships to China in the past decade. I don't think the PTI government cares, they don't see the US government as a reliable partner.

I think DG-ISPR demonstrated quiet effectively, in the recent escalation with India, how one can convey seriousness and confidence whilst remaining civil.

There was another difference as well, DG-ISPR was officially sanctioned to say whatever it is he was saying. His statements were measured and calculated. They were given weight by being followed by action.

If grandstanding and talking big made you seem strong then India would've made Pakistan back-off. Calling someone a little pygmy is neither clever nor demonstrates any of sort of strength.

...

I stand by what I said. Well done Ms Mazari. Those who have lived here, studied here or spent some time here are not afraid of goree chamree. We do understand what language thy understand if they become hostile.
