lol you speak as if India has only 2 news channels..
India has more news channels than total number of channels that your country has.and some of them are very good..
and why should we not spend our money on buying arms?

I agree with the essence of your post, but will expand it slightly---No (sensible) army goes out looking for a war.
After all they are the ones to get killed, not you or I. The logic is simply inescapable.

Armies (and their weaponry) are created and maintained solely as a contingency. Otherwise their utility (in very blunt terms) ranges between the "tin soldiers" that I played with as a boy to "very expensive toys".

Yeah I was thinking of Kargil but even then it seems like it was the higher ups pushing for battle...while they sit in the comforts of home with their Rundi's
