Won't be surprised. But unfortunately the onus of staying legal was on him and etiher he ignored it or got conned into it. Either way got screwed.As mentioned before, in our lands it is easy to get anything done with the right amount of currency. So it is quite possible that this gentlemen was "willingly duped" into being get away with it all by those that could facilitate such transactions.

The man should be regarded as a naturalized Indian. He is 70 years old having lived most of his life in India. His kids are married to Indian citizens. His life is practically India. And he gets arrested by India at the age of 70 for returning to his roots, living there for dozens of years without causing any trouble and building up India by engaging in constructive enterprise ? I cannot imagine a more unjust and inhumane manner of treating a senior citizen than this
