Oh shopping malls, for me it is electronic stores, pet shops, then eating places. Repeat.
The rest bores the crap out of me.

. . . .
The positive is, in McD and BurgerKing in Pakistan (malls), they may serve beef burgers or steaks, which we badly miss in India due to grass eating Taliban concentrated around Gujarat and GHQ at Nagpur.

BTW, in India, we have enough malls even spread across tier-3 towns.

Pizzahut in Pakistan was also much better than what we have in UK but i hardly go to these international food chains because you have plenty others local food streets which are better in taste and price :)

Pakistani :lock:are bigger than Indian :lock: too

How about we fix the water crisis and feed our people before building such useless structures?

Same goes for Hindustan.

these useless structures (I am hoping) will pay for water for people...again I am only hoping because govt incomes comes from economic activity....other wise the only water govt can provide is 18th century water wells and Lal Bahadur style food.

They are too overpriced, tho market is already there for them in pakistan. Majority from upper class and from showbiz wear these brands on social events but they shop for these brands in dubai or london or other overseas markets.

i am not much in favor of these brands cause whatever hefty sum is spent on their items ,a major chunk of funds gets flown overseas but its stil better than our actors and upperclass people spending that amount in overseas markets.

As of now, capturing market share in pakistan is not an issue for these brands, may be in next five years they will arrive.

Lastly, i dont see how presence or absence of these top brands describe a local market and its growth. We have a wide range of local designers and luxury items stores which rake in huge profits. One of these called HSY is already an international brand.

Our designer Faraz mannan is worn by some indian actresses

when I went to MEGA mall in Pindi, most stores were Pakistani designer stores and due to international competition more and more quality Pakistani brands are coming in the market.

stupid comparison by false flagger,
what matters is how much retail occupancy is thr,
in early 2000s so called malls started to mushroom everywhere in tier1/2 cities in India, many of them were not able to bring
occupany of retail, food chains or multiplexes.
Only few who were in good and reachable areas attracted the full occupancy.
Now thats what matter, it’s obvious if you have little retail market in ur country a few malls will attract customers but not sure how much occupancy is thr in so called malls in pakistan,
The amount of malls are huge in India, delhi might be having more hi occupancy malls than whole of pakistan. These malls are doing much more daily business than pakistani malls combined which are few.
Second thing is the area available for large malls inside a big city, thr r many areas in delhi where 2-3 malls are sharing walls thr is interconnectivity between floors of these malls. With 100% occupancy. The larger malls will generate less or no profit if the occupany does not reach over 70-80%. There is a newly built city in china I read smwhere it might hve the largest mall in th e world by area but thr is only one single toy shop. Thats not the case in India where every mall which survived has full occupancy.

I have over a dozen malls and shopping complex within 300 m of my home. They are not very big but between 60 tot150 shops. 2 international schools within 200 m. Farms, high rise, 2 cricket night match grounds, aquarium, over 100 hi fi restaurants, show rooms of many multinational companies, water canals and over 2 dozen gardens, over 10 swiming
pools, clubs within 2 km from my home.

LOL good for you

If you are not dumb enough, you may check it on google. Anyway, I do not care what you think.

How about we fix the water crisis and feed our people before building such useless structures?

Same goes for Hindustan.

Water conservation should start as a movement. Recently, some great development has happened in India. Sewage water treatment discard was a big issue but now Maharashtra government has sold this water to power plant after treatment for 79 Crore INR. You can generate methane gas from sewage waste in bio digester plant and use it as fuel. You can use the water for many other purposes including agriculture. Some excellent agriculture techniques are emerging which has reduced water for agriculture to half and doubled the yield. We have a full scope to reduce water consumption to half provided we manage it properly.

It had always been like this even before malls culture started. Majority pakistanis dont even care about luxury foreign brands nor they would want to soend whooping sums on worthless bags imagine a louis vuitton bag is at minimum priced at 1500 dollars.

Pakistan always had local designer franchises business with tonnes of good brands around ,but generally pakistanis lack in good customer care , but otherwise local designer businesses have always done well which is a great thing. Malls have helped these labels increase their outreach to wider set of customers.
