Pakistani general appointed military adviser at UN
UNITED NATIONS: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon appointed Lt Gen Ahmad Shuja Pasha as Military Adviser of the United Nations Department of Peace-Keeping Operations (DPKO) on Tuesday.
The 30-year veteran of the Pakistan Army will succeed acting Military Adviser Gen Per Arne Five of Norwat.
For the past two years, Gen Pasha has served as director general of Military Operations at the Pakistan Army Central Headquarters. He also served as the Contingent and Sector Commander with the UN Mission in Sierra Leone and was responsible for the disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration of former rebel groups.
