Pakistani FM Hina Rabbani avoids Bangladeshi FM Momen’s call to seek apology for 1971 genocide at Colombo

.
Of course. Let me keep my nose out of the 2nd supa powa's (that's you) business.
super powers provide ration , electricity , education , respectful passport to its citizens .
I used to see India as a remote threat in the past but now know that India just wants to improve its economy and lift its people out of poverty just like BD.

India has no intention to cause harm to BD as then it would just be harming itself.
Very true .

That's the reason I am questioning our own government's action of asking for an apology as if it matters. Pakistan is irrelevant to our future
that is the thing: for bangladesh to survive, still, and to be seen different, and to promote its nationalism, pakistan must, must, must be shown as a bogeyman. otherwise there was no reason for separation and a separate country. until and unless bangalis are fed lies and propagandas of mass rapes and genocides, bangladesh has no reason to come into being.

and since paksitan is irrelevant to you, why waste time on pakistan defence forum, and comment on a thread related to pakistan bangladesh relations?

Dude, are you for real?

Pakistan has moved practically zero economically in 76 years of independence.

This year BD will record 5-6% increase in GDP per capita while Pakistan will maybe be at zero and this is not abnormal either.

Our culltures are totally different and before the British arrived BD was maybe the richest and one of the most technologically advanced regions on the planet.

Bengal, that BD used to dominate, composed 50% of Mughal GDP with circa 22% of the population.

BD would never have progressed if it was part of Pakistan and even if it had been allowed to run the country, would have needed to transfer many billions every year to keep the Western side financially solvent as Pakistani culture would have hampered economic development.

Bangladesh doesn't need Pakistan as a bogeyman to SURVIVE. Bangladesh is already surviving without Pakistan and thriving. No further discussion is required.

as bangladesh? yes it does. bangali nationalism is something different. bangladesh as a nation state does.

lol, what an idiot.

also, your awami league had a part in destruction of pakistani businessmen, you grabbed all the adamjees and others factories.

.
lol.
BD nation as a whole has no concern if Pakistani apologies as there is nothing that Pakistan can offer it now or in the future.

Current government does not represent the thinking of most BD'shis and I personally could not care less if Pakistan apologised or not as there is nothing to be gained for BD from either an economic or strategic perspective here.

On the other hand, BD will become a middle-income nation in the 2030s and then Pakistan will need all the economic help it can get like access to a huge market and potential investments from BD that only normalised relations will open up.

Like I say economic realities will force Pakistan to apologise for it's behaviour in 1971 in the not too distanct future.

PS - Why do you think anyone in BD actually thinks that Pakistan committed genocide in BD? It committed war crimes for sure against a civilian population and we need a full apology and any still alive that are guilty need to be held accountable.
lol.if you guys don’t care than why are you venting here?
it’s the Pakistani who are investing in your country.in your country there are lots of pakistani brand.but in Pakistan, people don’t even know what is Bangladesh.your country run on selling garments product.if foreign buyers refuse to order or move on to another country, than your economy will crash.

Again you are thinking as if your country is some kind of economic super power.you guys are midget looking.and Pakistan don’t care.

Disregarding the constitution?

The country had no constitution after March 1969, and the 1970 General Elections were held under LFO issued (illegally of course) by a dictator ..

Sheikh Mujib was rigidly adamant about making his "6 points Formula" the basis of the new constitution. He wanted separate currency and military forces for East Pakistan. That was unacceptable to the Pakistan Army as it stood for the integrity of Pakistan. All reconciliation efforts failed, primarily due to over reliance of Bengali leadership on India. Transferring power to Sheikh Mujib was akin to making Indra Gandhi the PM of Pakistan. But the Bengalis realizing that they cannot force Gen Yahya to accept their demands, resorted to violence and terrorism. The rest is history
Well, Yahya and his cronies were already traitors for having abrogated the Constitution. Sovereignty belongs to the people, not some womanising drunkard jarnails. Mujib had the mandate of the people, who are sovereign. Where did Yahya get his mandate ?

Well, Agartala conspiracy (1968) predates abrogation of the constitution in 1969. Sheikh Mujib and his Awami League were conspiring with the Indians against the stability of Pakistan, hence they too were traitors. No moral high ground to claim here

Your 5 times parliamentarian and senior AL leader Shaukat Ali (a co-accused in Agartala Conspiracy case) in his book, has candidly accepted that AL leaders indeed went to Agartala, India to seek latter's help against Pakistan.

Yahya Khan's reluctance in handing over power to Indian agents and traitors is quite understandable

Where did you get those figures from?

As per the 16th century Ain-i-Akbari (official Mughal records), Subah Lahore (central Punjab) generated as much revenue (~56 crore dam per annum) as Subah Bengal (~59 core dam) despite the fact that Subah Bengal was almost 3 times larger than Subah Lahore. People of Punjab were much more prosperous than Bengalis during the Mughal period. Punjab was much more prosperous than Bengal during the British colonial rule. Punjab was much more prosperous than Bengal in 1947. "Punjab eating up Bengal resources" after the creation of Pakistan was a myth created by Bengali nationalists and gullible Bengalis fell for it

Bengal Subah not only used to represent 50% of Mughal gdp but also used to represent 10-12% of world’s gdp. 60% of Indo subcontinents trade used to be carried out from Bengal Subah to the outside world. No doubt it was the largest of the economy in Indo subcontinent and that’s why all the foreign powers set up trade post in Bengal. The period we are referring is later part of 17th century and early to mid part of 18th century not 16th century as you have quoted. For example Dhaka as a city is founded just 400 years ago. It’s only Mysore under Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan overtaken Bengal Subah GDP to be the largest Indo subcontinent GDP.

BD potential is FAR HIGHER than Pakistan and we shall see the results as early as the mid-2030s.
