PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2016 : haute expectations at lahore’s latest fashion week
LAHORE: The first day of the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2016 kicked off in the city at the Expo Centre with some of the country's biggest fashion houses as well as several new names on display.
Feeha Jamshed
Karachi-based designer Feeha Jamshed was up next with her collection Bob Squad inspired by the late '60s and early '70s. Feeha Jamshed unveiled specific trends by redefining vintage cuts with a modern twist. The music for the show was punk funk. Sequins, bold and edgy cuts were the highlights of the collection. Jamshed made this one for a woman who loves to make a statement! Brilliant!
Maria B
Maria B closed Day 1 with her luxury prêt collection Sahara Dunes, comprising of clean, wearable separates, which looked glamorous. Peplum jackets, shrugs, cropped tops and culottes looked very chic and practical. Ombre diamante encrusted long jacket with an embroidered halter jumpsuit looked extremely glamorous in her collection.
Saiqa Rahim
Next up was Saiqa Rahim with her collection titled Yurt's Manifestation. Crop pants, boot cuts, off shoulder necklines, ruffles, monochrome and geometrical contrasts and checks and lines were the major trends of her collection. Long-grey exaggerated jackets were the highlights of the collection.
Unza Khalid
Then began the Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Show where Unza Khalid began with her collection Melodious Lay To Muddy Death. Khalid's collection was inspired by pre-Raphaelite painting by Millais. Sheers, free-floating fabrics and embellishments were the highlights of her collection. She used a dull green colour palette.
Sana Safinaz
One of the country's biggest fashion design stalwarts, Sana Safinaz began the night with their collection that alluded to a fresh spring/summer season, merged with a luxe active wear vibe. The luxury active wear included embroidered bomber jackets, tracks suits and relaxed silhouettes. A quirky and fun collection, Sana Safinaz welcomed summer with a warm embrace with this one.
Hira Ali
Hira Ali's collection Curiouser & Curiouser was simple and beautiful. Hatching necklines, clean silhouettes, 3D textures and short capes were the key highlights of her collection. A collection that featured a blue and a white colour palette looked fresh and very summery.
Ghulam Dastgir
Ghulam Dastgir played with soft colours, where beige was the dominant shade. He accessorised his collection very well with statement bags.
Sublime by Sara Shahid
Sublime by Sara Shahid consisted of a beautiful soft palette of pastels and whites. The collection depicted an ethereal mood. Ruffles, lace and lots of drapes stood out in her collection.
Muse
Muse with their collection titled Last Night were next up. Embellished, opulent and sporty evening wear were key features of the collection. Their silk track pants had the audience cheering for them. Short knotted coats and jackets were some of the highlights of the collection.
