Pakistani drone victim demands damages from CIA

He won't get justice. It is quite depressing to lose your family but he cannot expect justice from an intelligence agency... feel sorry for him though.

If US courts can issue notices to govt personal like shuja pasha on a case filed by jewish family in US .... than vice versa this can be done via pakistani courts or international tribunal or a US court... after all its the american weapon which caused this man such a tragedy!

He must include GOP also in the list of guilty party along with CIA for compensation.GOP is also complicit in allowing drones to fly from its soil to bombard its own people.

.
It is on record that GOP always urged US to stop those attacks and even offered to operate it on there behalf.

GOP is all clean on this issue.

According to pak military professionals in this forum, isi is giving intelligence support to drone strikes.Pakistani army is not spineless puppets to let the drone strikes happen against their wishes.

It is on record our Airforce chief said he is waiting permission from Zardari to shoot down any thing in Pak air space.

Pakistani leadership ‘okayed’ drone attacks: Wikileaks

ISLAMABAD: Documents released by Wikileaks indicate that Pakistan’s political leadership has allegedly been in agreement with US drone attacks.

The leaked cables quote former US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson as saying that the country’s political leadership approved the strikes in Pakistan’s tribal regions.

Patterson’s cable states: Malik suggested we hold off alleged Predator attacks until after the Bajaur operation. The PM brushed aside Rehman’s remarks and said “I don’t care if they do it as long as they get the right people. We’ll protest in the National Assembly and then ignore it.”

Although publicly Pakistani officials oppose the attacks, this particular cable shows they allegedly back them in private.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office has repeatedly said there is no justification for the drone strikes, describing them as “counter-productive” and a violation of the country’s sovereignty.

The embassy cables also revealed that small teams of US special forces soldiers were allegedly secretly embedded with Pakistan’s military forces in the tribal regions, helping to hunt down Taliban and al Qaeda fighters and co-ordinate drone strikes in the area.

“The Pakistani Army has for just the second time approved deployment of US special operation elements to support Pakistani military operations. The first deployment, with SOC(FWD)-PAK elements embedded with the Frontier Corps in XXXXXXXXXXXX (location blocked), occurred in September (reftel). Previously, the Pakistani military leadership adamantly opposed letting us embed our special operations personnel with their military forces,” one of the cables’ summary stated.

Why to sue American's for Drones attack?? Why not sue Government of Pakistan for allowing other country to attack their citizens??

Pakistani man sues U.S. over drone strikes

A Pakistani man is suing the U.S. government for $500 million over the death of his son and brother, whom he said were killed in a U.S. unmanned drone strike last year, his attorney said.

Shahzad Akbar, attorney for Kareem Khan, told CNN his client also wants all drone attacks halted. He said he has submitted a legal notice to U.S. officials, including Defense Secretary Robert Gates, CIA Director Leon Panetta and Islamabad's CIA station chief, Jonathan Banks.

Kareem Khan told CNN that an airstrike on December 31, 2009, targeted his home in Machikhel, a village in North Waziristan.

Good for him. I hope everyone who lost loved ones or suffered damages from U.S. drone strikes also sue.

Well, fat chance he will ever see a dime from the USA! (That's 1/10 of one dollar.) The GoP should compensate any "innocent" victims of drone strikes. It is the incompetence of the GoP that has led to drone strikes. And only the GoP can fairly ascertain "innocence" in these cases. So let Zardari write the truly deserving a check on his own Swiss bank account. That would be fitting JUSTICE.

If the americans can get from Libya then why not Pakistani peoples can take from USA. ?
