It's a joint venture & russians were forbidden to engage in export programs of missiles with range more than 300 km due to the MTCR. After joining MTCR we can upgrade the range ourself.



Because there are Russian design components we want to integrate like a new engine & a AESA radar

1) Yes, the Brahmos, T-90 & Su 30 MKI are manufactured in India
2) We need the assistance of Russian OEMs to integrate Russian subsystems with Su 30 MKI- like the AL 31 FP engine. That doesn't mean that the upgrade will be done in Russia.
3) I know what MTCR is.
