Pakistani court declares FETO a terror group

. .
If you ask me this is an independent decision made by our brothers. They show that they side by legal and elected lawmakers in Turkey instead of CIA backed coup makers. Thank you Pakistan, time-tested friend.

I am Not questioning the verdict but the delay in it. This has been going on for years now.

Hopefully an agreement between the two Top courts can be formulated which automises this and not Leave it at the mercy of governments political will.

The unity between Pak-Turkey cannot be brought down, especially now more than ever. It's time to invite Turkey into afghan negotiations as another counter balance to india and a player with great influence in afghan society. The Talib will NEVER say no to Turkey!!

@Indus Pakistan

What does Turkey have to do with Afghanistan? If India has no business being in Afghanistan neither does Turkey.

Turkey has established huge/large influence in afghanistan since 2001, they have been actively involved in its political atmosphere in significantly major way.

For Pakistan Turkey will always be an acceptable partner same goes for taliban.

Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday ordered the government to declare the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) a terror group and ban its affiliated schools in the country.

FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016 in Turkey, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

Ankara accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.

A bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, also ordered to hand over FETO’s “all the movable and immovable assets”, schools, colleges, education centers and other similar entities to Turkiye Maarif Foundation.

Turkey established the Maarif Foundation in 2016 to take over the administration of overseas schools linked to FETO. The foundation also establishes schools and education centers abroad.

On Dec. 13, a local lawyer Sohail Sajid had filed a constitutional petition in the Supreme Court and requested to declare the group a terrorist outfit in the country.

The court directed the Interior Ministry to declare FETO-linked Pak-Turk International Cag Education Foundation (PTICEF) a “proscribed organization” and include its name in the list of terrorist outfit.

The court also directed the country’s financial institutions to immediately freeze the bank accounts of FETO-linked foundation and give custody of the such assets to Turkiye Maarif Foundation.

"Direction is issued to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to declare the Section 42 Company created by PTICEF as defunct on account of its illegal and unauthorized initial registration and its affiliation with a terrorists organization and remove its name from the registers of SECP," the court ruled.

The Supreme Court’s verdict also directed police and other law enforcement agencies to extend full support to Turkiye Maarif Foundation in taking control of the education institutions.

Currently 28 schools are running under the FETO-linked organization in Pakistan.

"Today is historic day as our country's top country has declared FETO as a terror outfit, which staged the defeated coup in our brotherly country Turkey in July 2016," Sohail Sajid, the petitioner, told Anadolu Agency.

“Pakistan is the only country where the FETO has been declared as a terrorist organization and now all schools and assets linked to the group will be hand over to the Turkish government,” he added.

The court ruling will further strengthen ties between Pakistan and Turkey, Sajid added.

Even though the Turkey undertakes ISAF command duties from time to time, the Turkish military does not enter clash in Afghanistan. It doesn't even do things that need to be in the conflict zone, like clearing minefields. The most important task of Turks is to establish and train the Afghan military system. Indeed, more than 12 thousand so far Afghans trained by Turkish army. Similarly, Turkey undertook the sponsorship of the Military High School.

The Turkish military went to Afghanistan under NATO. However, this decision is the basis of the decision of the United Nations Security Council and the Bonn Treaty. In addition, not only in Turkey, 50 countries with 135 thousand troops in Afghanistan. Moreover, the Turkish military is the most successful military force in this country. Bcs Turks have won the hearts of the people on the streets of Afghanistan. Even other soldiers of NATO have to wear Turkish flag in their military vehicles in some places to protect themselves.

Turkey's presence in Afghanistan is not just limited to the armed forces. TIKA's aid to Afghanistan has so far exceeded 400 million dollars. When you add other benefits Turkey's contribution exceeds $ 500 million. This assistance provide to construct clinics, water wells and some historic buildings are restored. Also another projects to provide work for Afghans.

And this is not a new situation. Turkey is there since Ataturk's way. first reason, Afghanistan is friendly and brotherly country since 1900s. And second reason it is so important as to better protect the economic and cultural interests of Turkey. Because if you're not there, the extremists like Al Qaeda will keep it there and eventually threaten your way of life, or foreign powers like the US, China or Russia will settle there and harm us and our brothers with their rudeness, size and imperial goals.

In short, the nature of the humanity does not accept spaces. If you don't exist in Afghanistan, there will definitely be someone who will carry out the process against you.

We also see and understand Pakistan's Afghanistan problem. Turkey never entered in a move that would damage the interests of Pakistan. It is a very shallow approach to match our existence with the US.
