Firearms are necessary. It is just that automatic weapons have been seen around in civilian hands which should be taken away.

If you say so, but I was talking on a philosophical level and not a rich and poor divide....basically I would like to see the citizenry of Pakistan as a second military. Every able bodied male and female should get basic training in high school. Of course there needs to be vetting, if you are not of "correct" background you may skip that lesson in school...

It is a sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for a Muslim to be prepared for war. Gun ownership is part of that, but so is training to safely handle weapons, physical fitness, first aid training, having a first aid kit at home etc.

Gun ownership is not bad, as long as weapons are registered and weapons holders are trained and responsible. It does reflect poorly on the security situation that people feel the need to be armed.

Actually they are a bigger problem most murders and robberies are committed by small arms we need to treat all guns as dangerous some more dangerous than others
