What's new

Pakistani cinema owners all set to lift self-imposed ban on Indian films

you say it because you dont know what religion (and hinduism in particular)... praying to god only one aspect of religion... u r right that discussing religion is not allowed here plus i m on my mobile... till then enjoy bollywood...

I've never been able to talk about religion with any follower of Hindu religion. As soon as R word is mentioned, discussion ends lol - regarding the second part, will do.

What are people's views on 'item songs' - is it seen an an acceptable thing? I'll be honest, it's quite degrading towards women and I get a feeling that Indian audience won't pat an eyelid these days with the stuff being produced - call me old fashioned..

Interestingly, on item songs you share your reservations with the least likely group -- the RSS, Bajrang Dals and Shiv Sena. They do not like them one bit but mostly Indian folks --Hindu, Muslim and all the others too, watch them plenty.

Can I recommend you this video? Watch it from where the actresses come in right at the end, I would like to hear you views. Not trying to put you on spot - can ignore it if you wish to.

Starts at 57.25

My views on this are simple. Do you take stunts shown in movies seriously? I do not. Then why to take this behaviour seriously? As far as objectification of women goes, movies are not even my third concern. Arranged marriage, eve teasing will be on the top of that list. I find movies what they are. A distraction.

Oh and I forgot to add, I have faced enough of eve teasing in US as well, so I guess this phenomenon is not purely Indian.

Feeling really ashamed of these A-H0les and they these low life suckers shouldn't complain Indians do violence against Muslims and Kashmiris.

It was only a matter of time....hard to put bans on Indian product(s) when your PM has active business interests with them.

.
you people cant live without the bollywood heartthobs ... ...

you just don't have the finance glitz and glamour of the indian cinema indusyry

That has changed a lot and proof is that when the cinema owns imposed the ban, there was not outburst from any section...rather people welcomed it and now they support Pakistani content. People of Karachi and Lahore are also patriotic so paa jee it is time you to get your facts updated :)

I saw plenty of social media posts crying out that politics shouldn't get in the way of entertainment. I sincerely wish that one day Pakistani content will top the charts over and over again. There are patriotic people in both cities, but you can't deny that these are major fan bases for Bollywood. You only need to see the cinema takings for such films in these cities, heck people even on Eid go out as families to see a Bolly flick. I remember the film "Singh is King" smashing all eid records!

But you can't deny the fact that bollywood doesn't have a hold on Pakistani audiences like it did in the 1990s and before. Because the improvement of Pakistani cinema and the introduction of Turkish/Middle Eastern entertainment has diminished it. But there is still a long way to go until we surely get rid of this vulgarity permanently.

To be fair... and I'm rarely on India's side with anything... they are using fair free market tactics. If pakistan cares, they should find a way to make movies that aren't compete garbage.

Having said that... given the recent behavior by indians, i say **** em. Let's not contribute to their pockets. If Pakistanis can't help but watch these movies, they should at least download pirated versions.

The ONLY indian film I've ever watched is ghandi. Boy were those legs skinny.

Owners are not to blame. Stupid citizens who can't spend time without Bollywood trash are at fault here.

This is the essence of this entire thread...At the end of the day Cinema owners are doing business not charity. If people wont go to Bollywood movies, they will not show it.

Watch Maalik too, it's also a really great movie with a great message regarding our politics and politicians

I saw some part of the trailer in youtube..It is entertaining..

"We lifted the suspension as a cinema guild. We took this decision because we would like to support them (Indian cinemas) and expect them to support us," said Aadil Mandviwala, Director Mandviwala Entertainment.

How cute.... Did Indian movie producers appealed these cinema owners to support them ? Or, did IMPPA reversed the ban on Pakistani actors ? Did the association even show any intention of doing so ?

"It takes two hands to clap, it does not matter if one hand is bigger or smaller. At the end of the day, its the clapping that counts. This is the message that we want India to hear," added Aadil.

So, in addition to unwarranted help, this is a humanitarian effort as well. How thoughtful of these cinema owners.

It is okay man...We do not have to be harping too much on it...It does not look good on us. Rather we should really cooperate with those audiences in Pakistan who loves our Cinemas and respect their sentiment to keep watching our movies irrespective of so much of hostility.
