Pakistani American Wedding

You are right. We are obviously looking at a Russian orthodox wedding. Thanks for sharing your expertise as it was clearly needed.

Although appreciate your sarcasm, I see more similarity than difference compared to Indian weddings, and it hardly looks like an Islamic one.

Pakistani and Indian wedding are almost the same, heck even the studio that made those clips Samson Productions specifies on its website.
enjoy the nice clips rather than pointless debates.

Well.. its .. very indo cultural.. and as for the co-ordinated dance.. ABCD's.. cant decide whats the limit when they "touch" their roots.. :D

A pakistani wedding is varied all over..
My jaw dropped in the PC hotel in pindi when the groom of a certain wedding came out with his face like this..!!..(less the red hair.)

Personally I'd prefer the sunnati way of marriage (mostly) with perhaps some little bit of halla gulla at some appropriate time. Go to the mosque, nikaah parhwao, ghar jao. Ghar jaake thora halla gulla karlo...

Aah but the women of the house won't have any of it. The very suggestion of "Saadgi se shaadi" is akin to blasphemy these days.

Well.. I did attend a wedding recently.. where the Nikah was done at the faisal mosque.. very nicely done.. simple..100 people.. the Imam gave a nice address on the Islamic concept of marriage.. none of the dont wear this and dont wear that.. rather how Islam defines the rights of the man and woman in a marriage.
The girl was there as well..
Three events followed.. all done nicely.. even though one had a little bad atmosphere because of Mrs K attending..
For a sometime I felt this was the Pakistan culture I had always wished it should be..
Islam being an integral part of our lives.. yet not being abused for eveything..

On my wedding I was able to convince my mother but my nani (grandmother) did not accept and went through with all those old village rituals single handedly.

It depends. I think indian Punjabi weddings might have similarities with Pakistani Punjabi weddings. But not most other indian weddings.

This is the entire wedding video.
