Pakistan yearns for a ‘Hazare’ too

.
Who is Anne Hazare?

A soldier, lone survivor in his unit in 1965 Indo-Pak war, Anna dedicated his life to the well-being of society. A bachelor, an ascetic, he has no possessions, no bank balance and lives in a temple. He is a living Mahatma Gandhi!

In Maharashtra, Anna has single handedly transformed barren and dry regions into green and food surplus areas.

He has fasted unto death on several earlier occasions.
- He forced the Maharashtra government to dismiss the corrupt - 6 ministers and 400 officers.
- Due to his fast, the govt enacted the Maharashtra RTI Act.
- In 2006, when government of India tried to amend the Central RTI Act, he again went on an indefinite fast and forced the Indian government not to amend RTI Act.

anyway we are one of few countries who have by force of people changed many regimes many times from ayub khan to bhutto and then ziaulhaq ..even Mr Musharraf....but interestingly every such person latter becomes a public hero..a very surprising paradox

Wait a min.... isint military dictatorship was the one which threw the government which was chosen by the people and forced their rule on people? aint it?

well you have to be here to really understand pakistan..Bhutto and other goverment that were overthrown by military were facing uprsisng ..military only intervened where it had was necessary..today every political party including PPPP agrees the bhutto had rigged elections in 77 causing huge uprising and killing of over 1000 people..

Oh ok so you are suggesting India should have gone for military dictatorship then for the leaders chosen by people who eventually turned out to be corrupt. Do you really think you can go out on streets like we do in a military dictatorship?

Anyways thanks for the valuable suggestion.

.
ofcourse..in pakistan there have been no solid dictatorship..every so called dictator has brough acceptable politicans to support him and has alwalys claim to be there for a transitional period..

people could do anything in zia, or musharraf era..come on noone can tackle pakistani peopel..anyone even try to bring some restrictions has to leave..just like musharraf he brought a judicious/justified emergency and was involved in missing a few persons..he had to leave

it was called dictatorship because the president usually came by a unconstitutional way..

ofcourse not..the reason why army intervened because it thought that such turmoil will destroy Pakistan..unlike india we cant afford such governments, india would simply take advantage and start a wars..

again its Pak army mindset
on other hand india has no regional threat..it can do whatever it can..secondly politicians were much matured in india..

I've been trying to figure out, how people will be appointed to the Lokpal?

I keep finding that it will be completely transparent, but what will be the process?

I think mostly retired judges from High court and supreme courts.

Its simply impossible...peaceful protest like the one under the guidence of Hazare is just not possible in pakistan. within few hours hundreds will be killed if something like this is organised in pakistan :pakistan: :pakistan:

.
no peacefull demonstration have occured before..
example are the lawyers movement and million marches from nawaz sharif

real issue is that beleive it or not the majority still supports PPPP govt

just a few terrorist blowing up spaces doesnt mean pakistani people are barbaric
