Bring as Many as you can, you need to change the mentality of people who are self aligned with 3rd grade automotive suppliers here... We have FAW v2 here, yet we prefer suzuki swift with no basic features..

Suzuki, Toyota and Honda make great cars all around the world. Then whats the problem in Pakistan? New entrants too will learn the tricks of these old shops soon.

The problem is the auto policy and the size of the market. Even this new auto policy is encouraging new entrants but is doing nothing to discourage a cabal of future and present auto assemblers.

Successful model of auto industry is Thailand, India and Turkey. Has anyone studied those models? I dont think so. Then expecting Pakistan to have a successful auto industry by arm twisting current market players in a typical Noora style and asking new entrants to invest in a first time market is asking too much.

I posted here last year multiple times on this. Pakistan isn't wooing anyone. Renault, Ford, Volvo, WolksWagon are VERY interested in building cars in Pakistan. Due to this, you'll see the Japanese starting to show nicer cars for the money to keep their market share. Otherwise, the Toyota and Hondas have their days numbered if they continue to sell the crap they have been to the Pakistani public for the past 40 years.

Audi, WolksWagon and Volvo have ALREADY started feasibility studies as they want to go in and ruin Toyota and Honda's business and don't want to wait till other competition gets in. Good days are ahead of Pakistan. It's time the nation went to an economic level that it belongs too (should've happened 40-50 years ago), but its never late for good to happen at anytime.

Pakistanis just need to stay peaceful, no violence and no political unrest due to stupid stuff. Pakistan is all set to start a rapid move up the economic ladder starting next year. Just by 2020, you'll see a HUGE change in Pakistan from an economic and modernization's standpoint.

Any newcomer must ensure the supply chain of spare parts in small cities, otherwise it will be fail, like many in past.

The success of Toyota and Suzuki revolves around easy availability of their spare parts.

The majority of middle-higher income population lives in big cities, not small cities. The first setups will be in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

If I live in a village of some remote district, given Mehran and Mercedes with same price to choose in between, I shall simply not buy the Mercedes for which I have to travel 300km for even small nut bolts. And that what happens in reality. You will see only Toyota and Suzuki in abundance, every newcomer failed there.

Simply: No spare parts availability = car is fail.

Hyundai(Elentra and Accent) is fine for those who can't afford Toyota put it is inferior to Suzuki(made in Japan) but Kia is junk. I came from Saudi Arabia, over there you will find almost every car of this planet. My friend's father bought Kia after selling Toyota and he said that it was one of his worst decision, his Kia was brand new and he used to visit workshops weekly. Availability of spare parts of Toyota and Hyundai is same in KSA and yet people prefer Corolla over Sonata and Yaris over Elentra.

Pakistan is getting stable slowly but steadily and the situation has already become much better thanks exclusively to the military leadership for taking a clear and hard stand against terrorists. However the political govt is totally unstable and incompetent. Foreign investor are not fools when they see that man who is wooing them to invest in Pakistan, himself is corrupt bas*** and is owner of a number of offshore companies. We will need to get rid of these corrupt leeches first and then investment will flow in rapidly.

Mazda is a very good brand as well. In fact, more established than KIA.
