JALANDHAR: A Pakistani woman was found travelling in Samjhauta Express on Thursday night without any travel documents or other identity proofs. She could travel further from Attari and it was during the journey between Attari and Jalandhar that a ticket checker found that she was without ticket and when questioned further she did not even have passport.
The TC informed the senior officials and the train was specially stopped at Jalandhar Railway station at around 10 PM and she was made to alight the train by the Government Railway Police which also questioned her.
GRP DSP Makhan Singh said that during preliminary questioning woman revealed that her name was Chanda (27)and she told that she wanted to visit a Dargah in Agra for a Mannat as she did not have any child. "During questioning she appeared bit mentally unsound or depressed but it would be clear after further investigations by the police and medical examination if she was pretending or she had genuine mental issues," he said.
The woman also told the police that she wanted to meet Salman Khan as she was a big fan of his films but during questioning it also came out that name of her husband is also Salman Khan. "We have also recovered some Pakistani currency and medical prescription slips. She has told that she hails from Karachi," she said.
She also claimed that her maternal uncle Rashid Khan was also accompanying her and at Attari he had alighted to have water but then train left and he could not return. She said that her passport and ticket were with her uncle. However DSP said that there was no trace of her uncle till Friday noon.
She was sent back to Attari in the wee hours where she was booked under the provisions of Passport Act and under section 14 of Foreigners Act.
What has alerted the police and authorities more is that it has happened after Dinanagar terror attack by terrorists who sneaked from Pakistan.
