The per capita water availability in the country has gone down to 908 cubic meter in 2017 from 5,260 cubic meter in 1951, rapid increase in population being the major contributing factor behind the phenomenon.

While you're still lower in per capita terms(in recent times) , I was referring to the net wealth/gdp of the respective countries. That matters much more in terms of defence.
